Wait 'til Bill Worrell starts working for the Sharks. Then we'll know for sure.

No, the fact that no news has come up means neither side is budging.

Not a chance the media is just sitting on information without making it a circus event of coverage.

And then he went on to say the franchise owners are losing millions and the business model is not sustainable with the players taking 57% of BRI. Not negotiating through the media my ass. Both sides are trying to get public sympathies on their side to bolster their negotiating power.

    Lockout Timeline -

    July - ?

    August - Silence

September - Training Camp - Doubtful. no immediate loss of revenue

October - Preseason usually starts - minimal revenue lost. Loss of practice time.... eh.

November - Season is supposed be warming up.... - Minimal losses recorded to owners. Players miss a paycheck. Some minor pressure to get a deal done. Heated talks start up.

December - Season should be in full force and NFL is getting ready to prep for postseason. Both sides know that once the NFL season finishes they are screwed due to loss of TV revenues, owners finally feel the pinch, both sides finally hash it out. Players and owners compromise.

    -DEAL GETS DONE.

    Results -

-The diehard fans get screwed out of two months of basketball.
-Normal sports fans dont really pay attention and just pick up after the NFL season ends like they normally would.
-Owners lose a few mil, but gain posturing which pays off in the longrun with shortened deals, lowered cap, more free agency power, etc.
-NBA players miss a paycheck or two, have similar deal in place where they dont get totally screwed, but just a little, some players pull a hamstring because they are out of shape, quality of play is not as good because of lack of practice etc.
-Rick Perry somehow becomes the frontrunner to win the Repulican vote, screws up the economy even more, puts the country in a couple more wars, ruins the countries education system like he did here in Texas, the ice caps melt, war in the middle east, etc.

-THE WORLD GOES ONE AND WE GET BASKETBALL IN JANUARY OF 2012.

Better to have no season, see how it will impact the franchises and the NBA as a whole. Imo, both sides shouldn't budge because Stern is a evil person and just wants his way (dictator!!) and the players are greedy so there's something to be said for both. Let them keep fighting until Stern gives up, a new commissioner steps up who doesn't use foul tactics to undermine the negotiations and the players hand in some salary while keeping guaranteed contracts.

I hope so, it's a lose, lose situation for everyone. The players make too much, the owners spend too much and we the fans pay too much. Overall though I wanna watch some ball whether it's NBA ball or not, or whether it's Lebron, Kobe or not. I hope it's Rockets ball sooner rather than later.
