I'd probably go with Blount. Addai is a falling star and will not goal line carries. Rookie and Donald Brown will be options in the Indie backfield. Go with Blount force
I thought it was the pass the Texans were so bad at? Teams will until otherwise indicated, in the regular season, will hold true to that until results say otherwise.
I agree, they are bad against the passing game as well, but their rush defense has not looked good so far in the preseason (small sample size though). I will probably go with Blount
So how did I do: QB: Kolb, McCoy RB: Rice, Bradshaw, F. Jackson, Blount, Moreno, Choice WR: Fitzgerald, Julio Jones, Knox, R. Williams, Ward TE: J. Graham DEF: Philadelphia K: Feely
It needs work. You should be fine at RB, but your QB position is pretty terrible and your WR situation isn't great either. Choice, Ward.... guys like that shouldn't be drafted. You need to take more stabs in the later rounds on guys with upside rather than wasting picks on proven players who aren't likely to give you much.
The problem was there was an early run in QBs so the quality ones were gone quick. Explains why I'm running back heavy. I dont value WRs as much as others, especially with teams running a lot of 3-5 wide receiver sets. Have Choice and Ward been replaced in their positions?
You could be fine with Kolb, but when there is a QB run and you get stuck with a bottom tier guy, you need to immediately draft another QB in case the guy you just drafted has a **** year. For instance last year I got caught at the end of a QB run and got stuck with Eli Manning, so the next round I took Cutler and played the matchups all season. Choice isn't really much of an option, DeMarco Murray is probably the guy you'd rather have if looking to capitalize on Felix Jones' injury. You need to value receivers. 3-4 receiver sets just mean a spread offense. Brandon Lloyd last season is an example of what happens when you're the #1 target in a spread offense, he collected the lion's share of the targets while the other guys fought for scraps. The NFL has morphed into a passing league over the past decade. Check the stats. Coupled with the decline of the true "workhorse RB", you're being foolish right now to undervalue the WR position, especially if you play in a default yahoo league where you start 3 WRs a week and only 2 RB. Hines Ward is pretty much the same as Donald Driver right now, high motor guys who are entering the twilight of their careers and are still effective options on 3rd down, but the younger guys will be getting the bulk of the looks. Mike Wallace is the Pittsburgh WR to own, and Antonio Brown has been scorching defenses in the preseason.
Why so? The proposal was more of a principal agreement between a buddy of mine because for some reason he was eerie about Peyton Hillis' hamstring issue and needed depth at RB. So it started with Lloyd for Greene. I escalated it to Lloyd & D. Thomas for S. Greene & Crabtree. I have a ton of depth but want an upgrade at receiver, here's my team and I'll explain why: QB: Rodgers / Orton RB: Turner / A. Bradshaw / Best / Greene / Tolbert WR: Fitz / Collie / Crabtree / R. Williams / J. Simpson TE: Pettigrew / Cooley DEF: Saints K: Billy Cundiff With Peyton's status up in the air and Collie's injury risk I feel like another #1 option could help, especially in my highly competitive PPR league. Crabtree is a little iffy too with his foot issues and QB unreliability. I offered a trade of Best & R. Williams for Andre Johnson to a guy that really needs RB help but doubt it'll get done. I'd be set if it goes thru tho.
Okay trade Best and r. williams for lloyd alone. Roy williams ugghhh do not like at all jahvid best will not last as a starting rb for detroit it will be Jerome Harrison soon. Tolbert is only going to be a 3rd down back. And why even draft J simpson??? fitz/collie who is the WR in the colts/lloyd and crabtree would be a better WR group. IMO greene is ranked one tier higher than thomas.
I think Best could last a season and is a good option if Stafford stays healthy and has the chance to distribute the ball instead of being heavily relied on, if Harrison can help shoulder the load Best could play more games. I picked up Roy, Simpson, and Cooley all in the late rounds at bargains. I really think Simpson could be a sleeper this year, so I agree with moes. If he doesn't come thru I have a few other sleepers in mind to fill the void. I made another proposal of Best for V Jax, that's a little more realistic since the guy that drafted AJ took him 4th overall.
No, but he's got a reputation as being flimsy. If I were looking for a late round back who could end up an RB1, I'd look at guys like DeMarco Murray, Rashad Jennings, Ben Tate, etc.
I'd try like hell to get V Jax, he's not quite as appealing in a PPR league, but the points will still be there. I am starting V Jax and Lloyd in my PPR league and am pretty happy with that. Best is a better option in PPR, but your WR situation is quite uncertain and Roy Williams is unlikely to do much in Chicago. They have a very shaky O-line and they ran the ball the most out of any team last season.
