Hitting coach was just talking about Wallace and his development. Interesting comments. Talked about Mattingly hitting to the oppo field but with not much power early in his career and then showing pull power while still using the whole field later in his career. Says the power potential is obviously there with Wally. My guess is they really feel that he can accomplish some things by working in AAA right now that he couldn't at this level. Far worse hitters stick around longer so I'm guessing they are doing this because they believe it will benefit him and the team most. Are they right? Don't know.

Meh... no damage but old man Cabrera worked a full count, Kepp lined one pretty good and Beltran hit a 2B.

Got away with walking Bumgarner after walking the 8 hitter to get to him. Luckily he was facing the worst excuse for a leadoff hitter in baseball.

We've unintentionally walked Cabrera on 4 pitches twice in this series. I wonder if that's ever happened before in Cabrera's career, let alone now that he's like 85 years old.

Happ a little wild on that last intentional ball.

I thought he actually started off worse in other innings. Barmes' error started the trouble there. Walking grandpa then giving Kepp a high meatball were on him though.

JD hit a couple deep to the warning track in this series. The one yesterday looked like it came off near the handle of the bat and he still got it that deep.

Boy, did Downs get away with some bad baserunning... that should've been awful but it ends up great with the error.

Hilarious to see the old guys manning SS and 3B for SF.

Cabrera with a bad play and now, on queue, Tejada with a bad decision but barely makes up for it.

That has to be among the oldest SS/3B combos in the last several decades.

Well, I guess Downs was running on the expected sac... still a nearly botched play that turned out well for us.

Not much a hitter can do if those are strikes. Schafer and Lee got screwed badly.

And a final BS call to finish things off. That wasn't quite as bad but it was wrong again. You could see the ump mouthing "outside corner" to Barmes when Barmes questioned him.

I didn't pay close enough attention to see if we were getting the same calls but we probably were if pitchers were throwing similar pitches to that area.

Still, we were the team down by 1 late in the game and those ABs for Schafer, Lee and Barmes were all crucial, esp. Schafer's and the called strike in his AB was probably the worst of them all.

Despite 1 hit and 2 walks, we came up dry in the 1st. Myers fastball seems to be his only pitch finding the strike zone.

    1-0 Giants.
