aren't ebay bids binding as soon as you bid? Meaning that if you win the bid you HAVE to purchase it. Why would ebay complain? They get a nice commission out of it.
Nope. If the buyer is a cheap ******* he can file a dispute. But come on... technicalities are technicalities sure... but eBay won't waste their time with this nonsense.
I haven't touched it yet as I'm gifting it to my parents. They're both in desperate need of a simple mobile computing device with a large screen since they have vision and mobility problems. (i.e. too hard for them to go upstairs to the computer room all the time, too hard of seeing to browse stuff on a smart phone)
Are you going to help them get it all setup? It works ok out of the box, but for maximum enjoyment you really aughta run thru a few updates and tweaks. or you could do it now, gives ya a good excuse to mess with one for a while.
I'm curious how much tweaking it needs out of the box. I imagine I will get the software all up to date, install a few good apps for them, etc. But what else needs to be done? I don't plan on hax0ring it so I can use Android or anything
Day 1 purchase if the specs are as good as the rumors claim AND it happens to be as cheaper or even cheaper than a Nook Color.
It is pretty laggy. I turned off logging and it didn't help much. If your parents are patient they won't care.
I found this write up helpful http://tabletconnect.blogspot.com/2011/08/things-to-do-with-your-new-touchpad.html
just do the updated and preware patches. I didn't even do the overclocking and its still considerably faster
I was mainly referring to the performance patches available thru Preware/webosquickinstall. volume levels lite increase touch sensitivity and smoothness 10 faster card animations HYPER unthrottle download manager muffle system logging advanced reset options add download link option go ahead and overclock it with the uberkernel and govnah install the other two things i use and recommend are "Make it so" just type patch and the "Add Launcher Tabs" patch. obviously none of these are *really* necessary for it to function, but collectively they make it a lot easier and less aggravating to use.
