ATW, go back and read that page (16).

    This line:
Is in response to this post, where I quite clearly am complaining that the sentencing is too harsh.

DD then launches into a very misguided 4 or 5 post defense of what I was complaining about, before moving the goalposts when confronted beyond some threshold.

So it's not consistent at all. First DD wants to "send a message" and is ok with the sentencing (and even ok with the law's obvious skew). Now he's suddenly complaining they're too harsh. DD's question might be better turned on him - which is it? If it's a "grey area", why the **** did DD defend his previous assertion for 2 pages? Never once does he remark that the sentencing should have been lessened, or the punishment changed to "clean up time" or whatever. No, he did that five days later and suddenly we all just misunderstood him!

Note, however, that DD finally did acknowledge the skew (i.e., that the lower classes are being singled out more than the upper classes) but refused to alter his stance, leading us back to....

    That makes no bloody sense.

    But it is funny.

Wait, maybe next time I should just ask Rhad what I meant...since he seems to think he knows everything.

So, Rhad, what exactly did I mean by consequences?

Hmmmm? Please, tell me what I was thinking when I typed that? Come on now...let the BBS in on your clairvoient abilities.

Obviously you have a power of which none of us are aware.....or, you are just being obtuse, and can't admit you are wrong.

Rhadawrong is what you are good sir.....

Actually Thad, I am completely honest, people read what they want in whatever I post.

Then they make arguments based upon what they think I meant, and it perpetuates.

I do want consequences for the rioters actions, I would like them to be forced into cleaning up the mess, and making restitution, not by long prison sentences, which cause more overcrowding in the prisons.

Maybe you should go back to your "I boinked everyone" routine.

By the way, it is crap like this that causes problems.

There is no evidence of this, just someone tosses it out there, like they know what the **** they are talking about when the truth is they are completely and utterly clueless in this matter.

    Infuriating.

The only plausible interpretation was that you supported the consequences being handed out as linked. You defended that interpretation yourself.

Anything else would require me to be clairvoyant or wildly guess. It's the opposite of your accusation, actually. You expected me to assume some wild alternative DD punishment was being concocted in the back of your head, instead of simply abiding by the "yay or nay" construct of the post. I could have assumed you wanted them all to guard Dikembe Mutumbo at elbow level in a basketball game as punishment and it would have been similarly nonsensical.

As I explained to ATW, you had ample opportunity to amend your earlier statement, but refused, going so far as to defend the unfairness as somehow unavoidable.

Of course this is all moot, as the obvious reality is that you just post without any semblance of context, or themes, or thinking, or...control. Ergo the comedy of you repeatedly presenting all sides and then getting annoyed when folks point it out and ridicule you for it. Good times indeed.

BTW, DaDakota, I am referring to Dikembe Mutumbo, the peasant goat herder in rural Kenya, who lives with his wife and four children in a shed. Just because I said "Dikembe Mutumbo" does not imply I was referring to the oft-remembered former rockets player that is discussed occasionally still on this message board. I apologize if the context was confusing or if I misled you, but you need to understand that I could be referring to ANY Dikembe Mutumbo, even those who may exist in the future. If you clairvoyantly assumed I was talking about the Rockets' great, I really must chastise you a bit for rushing to such unfounded and, indeed, dangerously erratic conclusions.

Just for the record, and to end folks that continue to accuse me of changing my mind about consequences or what I meant by that, I posted this on 8-12......

This has always been my opinion about the consequences, but not for those that just want to shout at me instead of honestly debate.

    SHEESH !

Except that in post 321 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=6265351&postcount=321 where I had already outlined my position on sentencing, which you so callously said I only posted yesterday.

I was pretty sure I had said it, but had to go back and look....

So, uh.....I guess APOLOGY ACCEPTED !!

    :)

I only read the last few of pages, but I don't see how DD is in the wrong here.

****. I missed that one. I'm not sure it makes you any less meandering in your opinions as presented, but it definitely makes my accusation that you straight "flip-flopped" erroneous. My bad.

I appreciate your apology Rhad, sometimes when things get heated, people just jump to conclusions or preconceived emotions.

Lord knows, I am as guilty of that as anyone.

    :)

As for meandering, Meh, it is a message board, conversations meander....

There's the whole "Inciting to riot isn't protected by free speech" thing, but yeah, it's a bit harsh. But everyone knows that the British are really screwed up when it comes to free speech. Even the Japanese aren't that bad, and it's not like that country's a real democracy.

As for the second case, don't know enough, and the Daily Mail from my understanding isn't a whole lot better than say, Fox News. Don't like making a comparison.
