Probably for Democrats, too. Keep the labor issues on the political radar. Get their voters to think about something other than how much they are disappointed in Obama not going more left. I doubt the Democrats are running out of 2012 election money because they spent some in WI. Anyhow, 2012 looks to be one of them Jeff Van Gundy elections: Ugly and low scoring. I don't think the White House is happy about the 22-20 first quarter score, but probably not all that alarmed, either. Obama is taking a beating, but the GOP is taking one as well (probably an even worse one). The GOP Presidential candidates are just beginning to beat each other up, Obama hasn't really begun campaigning. The Democratic base isn't too excited about things but probably will get more motivated closer to Nov. 2012. An especially nutty GOP candidate can get the Dem voters to come out (especially if effectivley demonized), Obama do more to tout what he actually got done.
I wouldn't say it was worth it for either. 30 million dollars and they lost. Also Wisconsin/United States citizens will now have at least a year to see the results of the law passed which was the last thing the unions wanted.
The United States needs unions. Maybe not these unions, but some way for workers to unite and prevent employers from walking all over them. I hope for the day when employees at places like Wal-Mart unionize.
Any unemployed job seekers out there, this is a heads up for you: as soon as Barry got the boot out of the white house, you will see a jump in hirings like you've never seen before. The real reason employers like myself and others are not hiring is because we're afraid of Barry's complete destruction of our economy if he gets another 4 years!
you're posts here indicate a person with an iq of an imbecilic level, so the thought of you as an employer makes me chuckle. but **** you for the sentiment. i'm sure those unemployed really appreciate corporations who are having record breaking profits not hiring them because there's a black man in the white house.
You're a pretty feeble minded individual if that's your criteria for expanding your business. Where's that American entrepreneurial spirit?
Your understanding of business is as idiotic as your understanding of politics and social issues. When there is demand that employers can't keep up with they hire more people. If you have the demand to hire more people but don't, then it's your fault you are missing out on the profits. Any basic business course would help you know that. And if you don't have the demand right now to need more employees, but you'd hire them anyway, then you also don't understand business. You will lose money by hiring people who aren't needed to do the work you have. Please get a clue. It will help all of us, but it will help you most of all.
Obama won't get re-elected. The problem with Obama wasn't his policies - frankly they are pretty moderate. And his health care plan (Obamacare) was ripped off of Mitt Romney's plan - so I am surprised that gets called liberal. The problem with Obama is that he doesn't know how to play the political game against tough tough opponents. He doesn't know how to win in politics. Clinton did. You got to be tough...compromising is a sign of weakness. And Obama compromised way too much. Americans wanted tax increases on the rich, and he couldn't pull it off. They want real stimulus, and he can't pull it off. Obama misplayed his card last year when he caved instead of letting the gov't shut down - that was his opportunity to play hard ball and get everything he wanted. Clinton would have let the gov't shut down. Obama didn't. That's why he will lose.
Wrong. A good employer will anticipate demand and expand before hand so as to fully reap the benefits of future demand. Determining future demand is very much dependent on predicting the actions of the government (as well as tons of other stuff obviously). Not expanding while Obama is in office is probably the smart move, since the future seems to be filled with more stimulus and more quantitative easing.
Dude, he got hosed on the budget and deficit debates - he lets the tea party walk all over him. I think you need to see reality - he is weak. Too nice.
Yeah, I don't think you know what you're talking about. Look up aggregate demand, and how fiscal policy shifts it in stimulus situations.
Polls mean absolutely nothing right now as it gets closer to November thats when it will mean something.
First, maybe. Second, lol no, most Americans seem to think that a stimulus isn't necessary from my perspective. Third, do you think Obama is just going to lose, period? Even if Bachmann wins? I mean, I'll freely admit, your complaints are in the "Obama isn't leftist enough" camp from my perspective, something which my friends whine all the time about and which is a major annoyance.
Americans may want tax increases on the rich and stimulus, but what mattered was that they (at least many of them) elected a bunch of tea baggers into Congress, making the enactment of these things impossible.
Sorry Marky Mark, your daddy(Barry) destroyed all of my entrepreneurial spirit for the past 2 1/2 years!
Once his Republican opponent in the general election materializes, Obama is going to destroy them. When it’s one on one and the Obama camp (and the media) start putting the squeeze to the GOP candidate things are going to change quickly.
If you hire people that you don't have enough work for it is a waste. If you have enough work that would require you to hire more people to meet it effectively but you don't do it, because you dislike the president then that isn't sound business.
I know I'm stating the obvious, but what a partisan shill you are. Your business will get what it deserves, on its own merits. I don't predict good things, based on the level of insight and cunning you show on the BBS. If you have employees, I hope they've jumped ship for their own good.
