Shogun vs Griffin is gonna be the sleeper hit of the night.. Can not wait for that focking fight, I'm pumped!!!!
I didn't know he was disqualified. That sucks. Out of all the things they do to each other in the octagon, he gets disqualified for that? Why? Was it because they were not standing?
Silva competed in Hawaii's Rumble on the Rock promotion, where he fought Yushin Okami in the first round of the 175 lb tournament. Although he was labeled as the favorite to win the tournament, Silva lost his fight when he kicked Okami in the face from the guard position. Okami's knees were on the ground at the time, making the attack an illegal strike to the head of a downed opponent. Silva later said that the rule had not been properly explained to him before the bout. "When I fought Okami the rules really weren't explained to me properly in the event I was fighting in," said Silva. "You could kick a downed opponent to the groin or to the head when your back's on the ground. So the rules weren’t explained to me properly."[24] While Okami was given the opportunity to recover and continue fighting, Okami opted for the disqualification win. Silva responded by saying he "felt it was a cheap, cowardly way of winning," and that "people that were there saw that he was in the condition to come back and keep fighting, and he didn't."
I believe Silva in that he didn't know the rules but to call Okami cowardly is ridiculous. He bopped his head back and knocked him out cold, anyone knows what that feels like? Okami seems to get more flack than Silva for the fight, while Silva is seen as some type of martyr for taking a DQ loss. Right after kick he was still trying to go at it, even though the ref was holding him up. The "last loss" on Silva's record really gets to people it seems. Still got him winning this fight though, TKO in the 3rd.
Sonnen not going to Brazil because of police threat. LOL. Clearly, Chael is the greatest troll of all time. http://mmajunkie.com/news/24937/son...due-to-sponsor-intervention-police-threat.mma

Anderson Silva have a history of losing to Asian fighters. Just get him on the ground and it will be over. <iframe width="420" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/267i7rKeECA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
They need to get Clay Guida on more cards. Something like "Clay Guida vs. a baboon with a chainsaw". That's what his fights all end up looking like anyway. That dude has been in some awesome battles. His fight against Diego Sanchez was one of the most awesome brawls I've witnessed.
don't think Okami quick/athletics enough to bring Silva to the ground. Silva should have this one easy imo. on a side note...jon jones vs anderson silva needs to happen.
LMAO! Totally agree man. Clay Guida on the card for every UFC event would be fun. Guaranteed brawl if he's involved.
Interesting. Okami training with Sonnen. <iframe width="560" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PCaAj96_Yg4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
That is really cool. I've done that move in demos but never in an actual match. In Judo it is called Kane Basame and its been outlawed in Judo for the danger to people's knees but it would've great to pull a move like that off.
Sonnen doesn't finish anyone anyways, I think he has a problem with getting power behind his punches on the ground. That and the fact Silva has an unbreakable chin.
Sonnen is going to be in his corner for the fight, too, from what I heard. I think Sonnen would be in anybody's corner if they happen to be fighting Silva.
