We can...but we're worlds away from the trainwreck we saw last year. 3 impact starters added to the group, another begging for field time (Reed), incompetent passive-scheme DC replaced by competent aggressive-scheme DC, etc. There are question marks and there are vulnerable spots, but teams shouldn't be bale to run roughshod like they did last season.

Let's be realistic; it is time for him to retire. ;) There is no need for him to risk further injury. He has had a great career. It is time for him to think about himself.

Even better, he could demand a trade to Houston, and just rest and "learn" behind Schaub until he's healthy enough to come back.

You are truly a man who puts others first....look at you, thinking about Peyton's well being. You, sir, are a prince.

I still believe Peyton has every intention of playing week 1 - he did this before, having knee surgery and missing the entire camp and preseason and still came out (not looking sharp) for the opener.

The only question is whether the Colts are going to take the decision out of his hands.

The biggest question mark for the Texans this season is. . . . GARY KUBIAK

He has the tools. . . does he know how to use them?
The AFC south is there for the taking

QUESTION: Rick Smith seems to have had a decent off season. . . .
If the Texans tank . . .does he go with Kubiak too . . .are they still joined at the hip?

The answer, to me anyways, is a resounding yes. If they are replacing Kubiak, it will be for someone with a lot more coaching experience and pedigree. Chances are, that person will want to bring in his own personnel....and that includes a GM.

Well, I understand that a GM isn't normally a part of a coach's personnel....but in this case, I feel like it is. There is no way somebody like Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden, Wade Philips (shudder), or anyone else would be comfortable leaving Rick Smith as their GM. They will want their own guy.

Yeah, but don't GM's typically hire coaches? Not the other way around?
