I just watched a video about the google microsoft battle and it seems to me that at some point google is going to want to cut microsoft out of the equation completely.

Is the so-called google computer coming anytime soon? You'd have cloud computing for storage space, google docs for application and never have to buy a piece of software again.

Well, that is definitely what i was getting at. If I would have googled it I'd have figured out that they had already moved forward.

I figured if something that big went down that I would have heard about it. I guess not.

But it is interesting to me that google is using the web to do this.

I'm just thinking down the line, but with the usb 3.0 architecture that google could take the operating system and stick it on a usb stick or something.

Also, one of my major complaints with microsoft is the bloated and inefficient registry which significantly slows down even the fastest computer hardware.

The more you install on your computer the slower it gets and that's all due to the registry. If google can make my computer run faster I'd switch.

I have Chrome OS installed on my computer. It's not much of an OS right now IMO. You can't really do much with it.

Everything Google does (except search) is just smokescreens meant to keep the competition from ever ****ing with search. Google is unstoppable.

Microsoft has lost the battle and probably knows it.

The future computing platforms are not desktops and laptops. They are smart phones (iPhones) and notebooks (iPads). Apple and Google are fighting for leadership in these products, while Microsoft is not.

Yeah it kind of sucks. I had a friend talk his small company into migrating for their 3rd party IT department which meant migrating from Outlook to Gmail and dropping Microsoft licenses for Google Docs. His small company is all older people that hate change too. I was like dude, you're an idiot. You are going to get yourself fired.

Remember when MS was the big evil company and Apple was the little guy and google did not even exist? Things can and will change, no one stays on top forever.

I'm not sure how much productivity you can get out of phones and tablets right now. There are some things that are just really easy to do with a mouse a physical mouse and keyboard. I can't see myself making spreadsheets or running databases on a tablet.

You obviously know absolutely zero about enterprise computing because if you did, you would know how ridiculous this sounds.
