    arjun,

How many minutes do you anticipate playing DeJuan Blair per game?

i know what you're going to say..."oh dejuan blair only avg 21 mpg" well you know what...we are only aloud 8 players on a team...if we had a full 12 rounds then I could play a 9-10 man rotation and play blair only 21 mpg....but we only have 8 rounds so max 8 players...which means you cant really go by mpg the players averaged in real life...spurs had the luxury of only playin him 21 mpg....with only 8 rounds, we OBVIOUSLY don't...

that being said, I fully expect Andray Blatche to play alot of center. He average 34 mpg last year and is a legit almost 7"...and thats with a Javale McGee on his team....

    Blair/Blatche/Lee rotating the center/pf spot...I think i'm alright

You're mistaken. The rules state that we are subject to real life constraints which means he has no ACL's. And the Spurs didn't have the "luxury" of playing him 21 mpg. They wanted to rest Duncan and play Blair more, but his knees prevented that.

First of all, your team did get a lot better. But that doesn't change the fact that your team's biggest flaw is its lack of depth. You have 1 pick left and you're lacking a backup PG and backup SG/SF.

What exactly do you intend to do about that? Neither Durant nor Jackson can play PG. That means you'd have to draft a combo PG/SG and play him about 25 mpg (assuming you play Parker/Durant/Jackson 40mpg each). But there aren't that many decent PGs left, and there are 7 people who draft before you that need PG's.

And even if you're capable of finding such a player, you still have Parker/Durant/Jackson playing 40mpg each. In other words, you have to play a fatigued core while the rest of us have the luxury of substituting in fresh players.

Dude..you are overexaggerating it like crazy....i was going to draft a combo guard..(so when i do please dont take credit for it )..but being 1 player short does not mean my players will be fatigued and yours ever so fresh...and yes we are subject to real life constraints...but when there are only 8 rounds you can only use real life mpg as a constraint so a certain extent.

Meaning if you have a 38 yr old pg who avg 15 mpg in real life...you cant expect him to play 48 mpg here...Dejuan blair avg 21 mpg in real life...and i plan on him playing close to 27mpg with blatch playing close to 40 who averages 34 in real life...i really don't think thats absurd

    look at my break down

    between pf and center position
    total mpg: 96

    Blair: simulation/25 mpg....real life/21mpg
    Blatche: simulation/35mpg....real life/34 mpg
    Lee: simulation/36mpg....real life/36mpg

now your telling me blair can't play 4 min more cuz of his knees...and 1 min extra for blatche means my front line will be "fatigued" and yours fresh??

    shut up.

and as far as parker/durant/jackson go...i will still draft 1 more player

4 players to cover 3 positions is weakness...but i will take that weakness anyday to have the team i have....wen it comes down to it...not having 1 more scrub player to take up some minutes on my team is not going to kill me

and this is not a simulation of 82 games...this is team 1 vs team 2...lace em up, give em a ball and a basket...which team is going to win...thats it.

Actually, it does. Let's say you play Tony Parker 40 minutes. The human body is subject to diminishing returns. The more he plays, the less efficient he becomes.

If I play Curry 30 minutes and Jameer Nelson 18 minutes, they'll be very fresh and should actually play more efficiently than their regular season numbers (due to playing fewer minutes). And since they'd be fresher, they'd play harder which would force Parker to play harder which would wear him out faster.

I would have chosen a PF/C similar to Troy Murphy in the 2009-10 season, instead of Lewis. With a shooting PF that can rebound reasonably, I think this is one of the best teams to come out of this draft.

The team is quite well balanced now too, though might be short at thte SF position (though Rashard Lewis could help that out)

Strongly considered Murphy, but since we're using 2010-11 as a baseline indicator for projected performance, I just didn't feel comfortable with taking him. Not his fault he can't play defense and didn't get any minutes, but them's the breaks.

Actually, it's not unprecedented for someone to change their pick before the next person makes their choice. Would anyone have a major problem if I chose someone else?

Star players may average 40mpg, but their counterparts are also averaging high minutes. The concept of diminishing returns would apply to both.

However, if I played Curry 30 minutes and Nelson 18 minutes (both less than their season averages), then any diminishing returns would be insignificant. I would have 48 minutes of excellent point guard play.

I don't know how I can explain this any clearer...

why would you want to play them less than their season mpg? how does diminishing returns even apply to curry? hes young...hes in shape...he should EASILY be able to play 40 mpg during playoffs. playing him 30 mpg means you are not utilizing him to his full ability....which ilke i said is fine with me..its your team, not too great to start with and now you want to limit your best players minutes to below his season avg for a simulated playoff series..go right ahead LOL

Time for the big question... With my 9th pick do I select a player and do a 2 for 1 trade to balance things out, select Yao, or select a coach?
