This has happened the past few days. At the 24 Hour, there are 3 lanes. Each lane has 1 person, including myself. In one there is an old asian lady bobbing around, one lane has a guy swimming 1 lap (barely) then resting for a few minutes before swimming another lap. Then, there's me, who's doing a hard set. I've swam competitively since I was little, playing water polo in college, so I'm not some scrub like the other 2. Well, in comes a 4th person, so one lane has to have 2 people. Never fails, they get in my lane. If the person could swim half decent, I wouldn't mind, but they end up doing the same as the other people, either bobbing around or swimming 1 lap and then stopping for 5 minutes. Seriously, GTF outta my lane. Go in the lane where you wont be in someones way. Stick with your ability If I were to go to a bball court to shoot around and both baskets had 1 person shooting, one of them being a guy 6'6 doing drills, dunking, draining 3s, etc, and the other hoop had a 5'3 guy with the ball handling skills of shaq and his FT ability, I'd go shoot with the scrub to not get in the way of the guy who's obviously practicing. /rant
Just 'cuz you have a bunch of GOLD medals doesn't give you the right to push people around in the pool, Michael. Besides, you're a drunk driver and a stoner. GTFO my Hangout.
Why not just say something to the people in the moment instead of coming here to b**** where nobody cares? Just ask politely, can you move lanes I'm almost done or something to that effect. I mean if it's that big a deal to you and all, I'm sure people won't mind waiting for you to finish or going in a different lane.
Sounds like you go to 24 Hour Fitness in Meyerland. That's where I usually work out early in the AM...around 4AM. I stopped swimming in the lap pool because everytime I try there are at least 2 uber-fatties using a couple of the lanes for swim-aerobics. Not only that, the pool always seems to have a nasty funky oil slick on top of it. Definitely not the cleanest 24 Hour Fitness on planet earth....
Do y'all not split the lane? That's common practice in a lot of pools; each person agrees to only use half the lane. It does work better though if each person is either swimming real laps or resting in a corner and not taking up space. No bobbing around or playing in the water; most pools have a space for that that is not a lane.
