You got a real solid team, I'd say, but you can do with more scoring. Oh, what's that you ask? Do I have scorers available? Why yes I do! And I'll trade you Bargnani and Paul George for Gerald Wallace and a pick!
curry jrich magette wilcox garnett/nene -------------- Curry will put slightly better numbers up than Parker, but Parker has led his team to Finals championships. He shows up under pressure. Curry = Parker - slight advantage either way depending on what your prerogative is. Ellis > Richardson - i don't really need to get into details there Maggette is just your average, below average, SG/SF. Brewer is worlds better defensively and isn't going to be asked to shoulder hardly any of the scoring load. Brewer > Maggette I'll skip right over Wilcox. Garnett/Nene - Per 36, Nene will get you 17 and 9 with a block and steal, Garnett will get you 17 and 10 with a block and a steal. Hickson per 36 will also give you almost 18 and 11 with a block and steal. While Thomas will get you 17.5 and 9 a game with a steal and almost 3 blocks. Plus I'll have Blatche giving me 18 and 9 and Frye knocking down 3's. It looks like you still have picks to go, but if I load up my front court with you just having Nene and Garnett My front line > your front line. Thoughts?
I don't think you're giving enough consideration to his team's athleticism. Physically, they're just off the charts. They should be able to match up with anyone defensively, and there aren't a lot of defenders who can stay in front of Wall or LeBron. I agree that they could use more shooters and I think Matthews was a stretch where he took him, but at the end of the day I think he's got one of the teams to beat.

This simulation is based on last season. Parker's finals MVP is irrelevant. IMO, Curry can do everything Parker can do and shoots much better. Thing is, Richardson suits my team better than Ellis suits yours. I need a slasher who can score in transition and shoot the 3 pointer well. And due to the size difference, I think Richardson can back down Ellis in the post. Brewer may be a much better defender, but if he doesn't pose an offensive threat, then it doesnt matter if Maggette is an average defender. Maggette >= Brewer No way. Not even close. Like I've said before, you can't look at sheer numbers. Sure, Blatche's 18 ppg sounds good, but if you consider the fact he shot 45% from the field, then it's not that good. Additionally, "per 36" isn't a good extrapolation of performance. The more minutes a player plays in a game, the less his production will be. "Per 36" ignores this fact. Garnett/Nene/Wilcox is significantly better than Thomas/Davis/Hickson/Blatche.
The one where I get rid of GWALL? No thanks. I'm happy with my team. If anyone wants my role players named Mayo and Fernandez, ok but if not I will be happy to stand pat and get through.
since you brought up PER, last year Parker > Curry. for the life of me I can't believe you're even arguing Ellis and Richardson. Brewer shot a better % from the floor than Maggette did and Maggette can't spell defense. Better defense makes up for the fact Brewer won't be scoring. because my starting front court will be playing 36 minutes that is a good starting point to the numbers they will be putting up. Your team is much older and will tire a hell of a lot quicker than my guys would.
I think its highly illogical to assume that Derrick Williams, who has yet to play a single NBA game, can match up defensively with Nene or Garnett. First of all, rookie big men tend to get into foul trouble, and secondly, there are plenty of athletic players who couldn't match their hype (Stromile Swift?). You didn't address all of my criticisms of his team other than the poor shooting which you agreed with. What about the redundancy of Lebron/Wall? What about Camby's age and drop in minutes? What about the lack of big man depth?
