I'm not sure if it's because of the contract that CBS has with the Texans or the NFL overall, but I wouldn't mind listening to the Texans announcers for an entire season. I only ever hear them only a few times a year, and they're pretty good.
Well was. Joel Myers got replaced in June: http://espn.go.com/losangeles/conve...ngeles-lakers-announce-play-play-voices-11-12
Honestly, I turn it down and listen to Marc and Andre. Nothing against Myers and Tillman but just not my cup of tea.
I can already hear it...Mario backing it in...backing it in...backing it in...backing it in. Most national guys find gigs in the preseason, extra pay I guess. Dick Stockton does the Dolphins' games and Verne Lundquist does the Broncos' games and they have zero connection to the city or team.
Vandermeer is the worst announcer in the city. Also, "Rock and Roll" has got to be the absolute lamest signature call in the business
Haha seriously...this isn't Cleveland what does Rock and Roll have to do with the Texans? You don't hear the Browns guys after touchdowns going "Houston, we have lift off!!!" I like Vandermeer but SMH on that one
Joel Myers sucks IMO, he cant even get the players names right a lot of times, but Spencer Tillman is good.
Agree, he bortched a few Texans players last week, guys who have been with us for years and he botched their names. Plus he sounds a bit like a "speak and spell"
Yes... I remember that tool was not a big fan of the Texans drafting Andre Johnson either, stating he wasn't a great student in college... go to hell.
I personally think Vandermeer is good. Don't mind listening to him at all. Actually am glad he is our play by play guy. Also, a really great guy if you see him off air.
