Be one of the greatest sports athletes of all time, or be one of the greatest musicians/bands? Would you rather be the next Jordan/Manning/Montana/Aaron/Ruth/Gretzky or be the next Hendrix/Beatles/Elvis/U2?
"Don how many times have you gotten laid because you were a football player", "I dont know a few maybe." "Don all im sayin is we could probably do just as better if we were in a band or something
Depends on if you want to be defined by what you do or redefine what you do. Also I will never not rep a Dazed and Confused quote.
Musician over athlete, writer over musician. Like no worries said, longer career, appeal to more walks of life (are team sport athletes truly beloved out of their home city.) I am reading Alexander Pope this week in my Restoration literature class, and I feel like I am getting as much out of it, if not more than a reader would in his day. That's immortality for you.
Music, of course; unless you've partied too hard, you'll probably be better at it than ever as you get older/ past 40, whereas any athletic career you'll have will be limited to telling stories of your past and living vicariously through others.
It's best to get it all at once. After the first 10 licks your ass gets so numb you don't feel it. Spoiler testing Moe's honesty
Musicians seem to be way more influential because they are know across a larger population. How cool would it be to be the greatest NFL qb of all time or the all time home run hitter (no roids) or "undoubtedly" better than MJ?
Being a musician would be a blast but can't imagine a better feeling then a rounding the basis on a walk off homer or last second jumper to win a game, series or even title.
you don't have to do drugs, but you have to kill your body to be one of the greatest athletes. that being said, if i were a rock star, i'd probably die at an early age from either stds or drugs.
groupies, excitement every night, no worries of playing bad, being the center of attention more as opposed to numerous players on field/court. And the "Artist" excuse make you sound sophisticated
I can. I've played to small crowds, and it's an amazing feeling (provided they like you). I can't even imagine playing to a sold-out stadium, with the entire crowd singing along to a song I wrote. That's the dream.
