    HTC Sensation

The system pushed an update to me Saturday, and now when I try to download an app, it will reach 100%, then state "Installation unsuccessful." I click on that notification, and get "Installation error: Insufficient storage available."

I have 65 MB internal left, and all my apps and pictures are on the SD card.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Are you sure they're on your SD card? Download App2SD.
Also, are you downloading music internally? or storing it on your SD?
Check your pictures as well. An HTC Sensation should never see that type of warning.

Doesn't that phone come with 16gb internal memory? Pull out your SD card and verify there isn't content on the phone.

    Have you tried re-booting?

Hmm, I was able to download two other apps, so I guess it's just this one I'm trying to get.

Anyone have trouble downloading the U-verse app?

Updates shouldn't take up space like that. At all

    Try this,
Go to Menu> Settings> Applications > Manage Applications> Select tab that says "all", scroll down until you find Market. Select force stop, clear data, clear cache.

Then open the market and attempt to download the app again

Had this problem last night. Trying to download a 43MB app to a phone with about 12GB of unused internal memory.

Do it again, something in the cache is acting up.
Try the same steps again, reboot device, and that should clear it up for you.

    Interesting timing.

I had this problem before, fixed it, but didn't remember how. Then it happened again a few days ago. I ignored it, and then suddenly a second notification (literally 2 of them in the top left) popped up. So I tried to reset my HTC Droid Incredible and it kept doing a loop on restart (logos, animation, reset, repeat). Basically I did a factory reset to get it going again.

But now I remember. I cleared the memory of my internet browsers. Go to the app management in the settings, and for each browser I cleared data for each one. I can't say it will work for you, but I'm guessing clearing the data for one of your apps will do it. Make sure to fix it sooner than later and don't make the same mistake I did.

On the other hand, I guess it was a mixed blessing as I finally decided to jump into custom roms (cyanogen) and I'm really digging it.

Is it me . .. or does the Androids do a soft reboot
and their SHUT DOWN is really like a sleep mode
because it is still using battery power

Are you using an HTC Phone?
HTC phones are notorious for losing battery when rebooting.
Samsungs and other don't do this.

It doesn't but for me I believe there was an issue with the market update that caused it continually give the error about insufficient memory/space. I could only install some apps but not all but after I uninstalled the updates to the market I was able to install everything.

Google is pushing out an update to the market. It might be causing issues for others. The new updates should include +1, a pin lock, and other stuff

Turning my EVO off doesn't do much, the only way I reliably reboot is to 'restart'. Sometimes fixes everything right up, sometimes still hangs on reboot in some areas.

And, as an aside, the Android version of Skype is the WORST MOST FETID PIECE OF HYENA DUNG I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO HAVING TO DEAL WITH!

Whew. There. I ALMOST feel a little better now.
