Does anyone recommend this show? I want something to fill my time while I wait for 'The Office' to run its eighth season. I've heard some mixed reviews here and there for this show.

It is my favorite comedy on television right now. Like kaleido said, first season is pretty meh, but it's just an explosion of awesome after that.

Very good show. You may like it better than The Office.

There's no mixed reviews, only this when the show's about to start.

Ron Swanson is the greatest character on television.

Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock are the strongest network comedies going.

Parks and Rec and Community are the top 2 sitcoms for me right now.

I have a Tshirt with this on it, just to remind me. It's gotten me more than a few compliments.

Alas, I cannot grow any semblance of facial or body hair, so I will never come close to the greatness that is Swanson.

And before anyone asks: yes, Asian.

Very good, with the same strengths as the Office but in a small-town government setting, and with a much younger feel: the Andy and April characters in particular were developed over time and give the show an extra dimension. And Poehler brings all the same energy and versatility that she had on SNL: the nervous drunk date and the flu episodes seemed halfway improvised.

Seems to have gotten better as each season progresses; go ahead and start with Season 1 and stream through them all. Netflix currently has Seasons 1 and 2 on stream, you might as well do that and then spring for Season 3 on Hulu or Amazon.

Mixed reviews? Who doesn't like this show? One of the two or three best things on tv.

Well it had horrible reviews during its first season, then great reviews during its 2nd and 3rd. I guess that counts as mixed reviews?

My favorite show on television, for sure. The Office has rapidly declined over the years and this is now my favorite show. It's hilarious. The first season was really slow but the second season was amazing. The third season continued its amazingness.

Definitely the best show on network tv, definitely a top 3 comedy on the air right now.
