Well, you never responded to the post below.

I think if Libya became like Qatar, everyone could be happy. But Qatar is tiny, and rich. We will see.

Living in mostly Christian USA now, Christians mostly leave me along.

    Except for this kind:

Yeah, I think there were no punishments.

As I posted above, if Libya became like Qatar, that would be great.

But please consider the possibility that your personal positive experience in a tiny, rich, relatively liberal country that is less representative of actual practice compared to way more populous countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi-Arabia may have skewed your perception a bit (to the positive side, fortunately, as far as you are concerned). It's a bit like living in a gated community in Detroit and saying anyone who says there is crime in Detroit must be an idiot.

We've all seen the Iraq War photos... you're right a few pictures and some jubilance on the part of the Libyans doesn't mean a) this is over or b)well, that this is over...

As with the death of bin Laden, most GOPers avoid crediting the President for the developments in Libya.

Barack Who? GOP 2012 Candidates Respond To Qaddafi’s Fall By Writing Obama Out Of History

The main GOP presidential candidates' responses to events in Libya were strikingly diverse. However, one factor they had in common was the lack of any mention of one person: the President who actually committed US forces to the conflict.

The exception to this was former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. "Ridding the world of the likes of Gadhafi is a good thing," he wrote. "But this indecisive President had little to do with this triumph."

The President gets more love from Libyans than he does from some Americans.

Politics be damned, history will remember Obama's highly successful first four years.

The man killed OBL and overthrew a tyrannous regime without a single American causality.

    Seriously.

    think about that.

At the end of the day, Obama "liberated" a country and won a war completely lopsidedly. The end justifies the means. Besides, the average voter won't delve past that. Obama will get re-elected.
