I understand that Quitters, Inc. is an effective company to help you out.

I stopped for 3 months then smoked one in Vegas with some friends. OVER.
    You've inspired me once again.

Should have titled thread "Smoking: A Quitter's Chronicle" and just documented daily.

Hang in there. You can do this.

Quitting smoking is easy. I've done it lots of times.

    Keep it up Batman.

Edit: spelling mistake due to nicotine withdrawal

Good luck. I'm always so happy to hear about people quitting. One of the saddest things in my life was seeing my mom a slave to this addiction. You realize what a powerful drug nicotine is when you see strong, capable people shaping their lives around being able to smoke cigarettes.

have a kid, that's worked wonders for me. i've actually been able to sneak a couple here and there and the desire to start back up like before is non-existent.

People making real changes to improve their lives is always very inspiring, because I often have such a hard time making much smaller changes than that in my own life.

It's great to see people being active in self improvement. I wish I had advice for you, but smoking isn't something I've done regularly. Just keep up the good work.

Congrats Batman. I need to do the same thing. I started cigs when I was 13...that's 37 years ago, kids. Earlier this year, I had an inordinate amount of stress going on in my life, and I ramped up to two packs a day. Back down to one pack a day, but I need to kick it completely.

Where can I get me some cinnamon toothpicks, LonghornFan???

I haven't smoked a cig in more than a year and rarely drink now. But mj is still a problem. It's tough to get off it, because the withdrawals can be intense. Even if it's all mental, it's friggin HARD to fall asleep at night while trying to quit. It only takes 2-3 days to reset your system, but damn it's hard to get through those initial couple nights.

I'm trying to live clean too. I'm pretty much the healthiest I've ever been in my life, so it's time to kick the rest of my bad habits now.

I've never smoked, but I would like to know where to get these cinnamon toothpicks as well. They sound amazing.

Holy crap, 3 packs a day?!?! Damn BJ, good luck man, it's gotta be tough to kick a habit that ingrained. I know I've said it before but smoking cigs, besides really hard drug use, is the worst thing you can do to your heart. Congrats on the tough decision.

I don't know about you, but threads like this make me want to take up heroin and veal.

    Good luck, Batman!
