Pretty sure mine got canceled. I ordered at around 8:30amEST, and on my account page it said order will be updated with approximate shipping date in 60 minutes. And sure enough it was updated about 60 minutes later with "Unable to process order." Don't think I've received an email yet, but you can just check your order history.
I am guessing HP still have them. They have on their web site a link to get notification when touchpad is available again. That link is being bombed now though :grin:
From a customer service standpoint, this is probably the best way to go. Sorry that three got canceled though. But, you snooze, you lose....I fully expect mine to get canceled, and will be pleasantly surprised if it goes through.
I wonder how much traffic HP is getting the last couple of days, prob more than they had all of last year.
I ordered from B&N's at 12:34 CST for only one Touchpad. I have only gotten the confirmation email, no cancellation or shipping email. Also, when I go to order status, it still shows "Unable to process order. Please call 1-877-379-0036, or 212-414-6024, if outside U.S.". Chose express shipping btw. Any idea if B&N will still cancel?
Mine was ordered at 12:17, and under status mine says expected ship date August 24th, i wonder if that means it went through? However, I haven't recevied a confirmation email or anything but my card did get charged.
I ordered one through Best Buy on Sunday am, rec'd an email thanking me for my order at 6:33am, and the order status on the bestbuy.com says "Order in process of being fulfilled; Usually ships in 0 - 1 days" and has said that since yesterday morning. It also says I couldn't cancel the order since the order was being processed. Since the status hasn't changed and since I am seeing lots of other people ordering from other sources (like amazon, b&n) with some success (and later, less success), I emailed and then called BBY customer support. The girl tried to be helpful, but all she could tell me was pretty much the same... since the order came in over the weekend and they don't fulfill orders until business days, she couldn't tell me for sure whether it was going to be shipped or not, and that I should wait a day or two (?) to see if they will be able to fulfill the order or cancel. She thought it would go through... and supposedly it says it would be received between August 26 and 30th. Has anyone that ordered Sunday through Best Buy gotten any word back (either via email or via the web order status) that their order was successful?
Nope. If I didn't already have my 2, I would have ordered from Amazon yesterday just to be sure. I have one of each ordered from BB, waiting for confirmation one way or another. We will know by tomorrow.
News is not good for those who ordered from OnSale via Amazon, they only had 8,000 or so units. You have a 50\50 chance if you ordered on sunday, higher if you got the 32gb version.
Newegg is already OOS at the high price... meaning people bought on speculation that they'd drop the price later unfortunately i spoke with a newegg CSR and he said he wasn't sure when they would drop the price on the web site and that anyone who purchased it before the dropped price would be charged the full original MSRP. ouch.
