lol...come out and see the action for yourself, open invite...I'll be out with David Wesley and Bob Sura next time. And when Bob Sura is in the house, who needs treasures? The girls flock.

I'm still not impressed by Ogbonnaya in the least bit. There is a huge drop off after Tate. Steve Slaton needs to find a way to get himself in the game.

Other than that, our first and second teams are looking pretty good on both sides, minus the run defense. That doesn't have me too worried though.

    Where was Lestar Jean?

Edit: How funny was it trying to watch Tate not mention that he did not, in fact, score on a 28 yard run when Bob Allen asked him?

I must not have noticed it before but Bob Allen must be pretty short. Tate is only 5'11" but Allen and his camera man made him look like he was 6'3".

I'm thinking O to the practice squad, Slaton moved or cut.

Loved the run game. Give plenty of credit to the blocking scheme - they weren't doing basic vanilla stuff out there. Some pretty impressive plays to open holes. Casey did a nice job.

He's still got time, but I stared down Mario every down (wore his jersey), and he was flat out ineffective. Couldn't get to Brees (two times he had a decent push to get somewhat close), faced a single blocker all game and was simply unable to shed a single block. No explosion off the snap, standing up really seems to mess with him.

    Hope the situation improves.

On the kickoffs, I was wondering if Kubiak intentionally had them keeping it in the field to practice in a game situation. Touchbacks don't exactly test your special teams. And with the new rules, it's a lot easier on the kick returner.

Ditto. Among the most obnoxious in the league. Thankfully, the game itself shut them up and sent them packing around halftime (with them still jawing "preseason")

I don't know why OB27 was being anointed by so many people. At best, he's the fifth RB on the Texans. Foster, Tate, Ward, and Slaton are all better. But I mean, do we really expect much out of the fifth RB on the team? He's clear waivers, be assigned to the PS, and wait for a phone call if they need help. I think they will keep Slaton for depth, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was traded to a team that needs a running back (like Arizona).

I wanted to see more of Yates since bust Leinart has been playing like the 2nd coming of Carr.

Yes, but the Texans don't want to give up a 4th round pick.

Agreed. Didn't feel like Leinart looked that great at all last night.

Congrats to you Texans fans. You guys look to have a way better defense this year.

I think Texans just became my second favorite team after watching their defense stunt one of the best offensive front 7's in the NFL to death.

Off the top of my head, it was Allen and Manning that got taken deep. On the Manning play, must have been a miscommunication between him and Jackson because Manning came to the WR too late when Jackson released and covered a zone.

correct. Allen got crossed up and just beat on that play. The Manning play looked like Kareem had the flats and Manning got caught flat footed while the WR just ran a fly right by him...he may have been expecting the WR to run a hook but it's still poor decision.

I'm really glad Tate was able to show his ability. I think some people forgot what a great athlete this guy is. An amazing combo of size, power and speed.

I'm nervous about the run stopping ability after that first drive. Saints were dominating the line of scrimmage early.

This is correct. Allen was just juked and toasted badly - maybe he thought he had help over the top, but no safeties at all on his side of the ball.

Not sure who screwed up on the Jackson/Manning play, but Manning was definitely caught with his pants down.

It was mannings fault.... He knew it right when he was released.

There is a Phillips roaming the sideline and a Houston running back in "beast-mode". If this is 1979, why don't I have hair?

It is hard not to feel excited about the potential of this team. They flat out dominated the Saints first team yesterday, outside of a couple of runs up the middle. The secondary got burned on a couple of big plays but that is what the Saints offense is, Joseph still didn't play and same with Demeco. Our offense looks unstoppable again, if Matt Schaub is clicking no defense can contain them. I will still remain cautiously optimistic and take last night's game like last years Cowboy's preseason game. In which we dominated them but the Cowboys didn't throw their best stuff at us knowing they will be playing us again in 4 weeks, when the game matters.
