Rick Perry’s Hardcore History of Investment in p*rn

Wow. I really cannot say anything else.

 

He invested in Movie Gallery, at one time the second largest movie rental company in the world. The Blockbuster myth notwithstanding, these companies historically had to rent p*rn to make a profit. Rick Perry did not invest in any p*rnography production or p*rn-only distributors, so the headline of this article is crap.

If it didn't affect me directly, I would almost wish that "social" politics be removed from both parties' platforms. I do not know how much more time and energy we have to spend on this.

 

There's a bit more to it than that apparently. From the article, he has been shielding them via his control over the AG office and via some dubious legislation.

That all being said, your point is a good one.

 

Yep, it's pretty sensationalist. I despise Perry, but this isn't a reason to.

 

The article says he invested between 5 to 10k in 1995. You'd think from the tone of the article he was a primary stake holder. This sounds like the kind of investment one makes when he has that down-on-his-luck guy he knows from childhood who has been hitting him up for years so he throws him a bone to make him go away.

 

Republican is just a name... I heard they're in a process of changin it to Kappa Puta Phi.

This doesn't seem like a big deal.

...but, of course, even if it turned out that Perry knowingly financed gang-bang movies, the religious fundamentalists would just downplay it and ignore it because Perry prays in public.

 

I didn't really read the article because I already know I'm not voting for Perry and neither do I care

However you all are acting like he sent a picture of his d*ck to some teenager or tried to get laid even though he is married.

I know I classify myself as christian and I also feel I have a good moral base but I can't go a week without p*rn, what about you all?

How about we do the whole line in the sand routine, the people who don't watch p*rn can ridicule him for this while everyone else should laugh it off.

You would think if you were following a money trail you would be able to come up with something a little more significant then this? I mean is this really the worst decision he has made????

So Rick Perry invested in the company that owns and operates Hollywood Video and people think it is bad because they also distribute p*rn? I would say it calls into question his judgment that he invested in something that is going bankrupt. I suppose the dates put him at the tail end of the company being profitable, but at least that is an issue worth discussing. The p*rn side of it is pretty weak. It isn't like he was palling around with a known terrorist or something.

 

Even if Rick Perry owned 50 p*rn websites I don't think it really matters.

It's so unrelated to his ability to run the nation. There are many many other things to attack him on than this.

 

What do you think the repubs would say if the tables were turned? They would bury him over this. Dems inherently have this 'give a person a break' mentality which is why the dems constantly get hammered by the right cause they know the dems will make statements like above.

 

Nobody is desperate.
Obama is going to get re-elected. Republican candidates are the ones that are desperate.

 

I am sure the republicans would make a big deal about it. But frankly I am so sick of this nonsense and I think most Americans are too.

 

I hope so but I doubt it. I know I am sick of it too but I bet Obama wins by only a few points meaning many people say they are sick of it but continue to buy into silly campaign tactics.

 

Actually the Democrats might not need to make a big deal about this as Perry's Republican opponents might.
