took 2.5 hours but I scooped one up on the HP small business store. Site kept crashing but after a million refrehes, I picked one up.
Got one at BB Sharpstown. They had 5 left. This girl and a guy, got one along with me. For the last 2, the manager asked how many people were there for it, 6 additional people raised their hands. He did a raffle....lol.
Did the same thing, didn't realize how quickly we had to act on those, gone in a flash... Pretty happy with the purchase but this is my first tablet and still trying to figure out its purpose between my Droid Charge and my laptop...
Not bad I did a system update it seems some programs launch slow though could be the first time I used it and it was doing it's first battery charge at the time otherwise it's not bad at all. Obviously wished there was more app support but watched Hulu on it and read websites with ease
Yoyo, if its a little sluggish, that's cause you probably have synergy sync going on in the background , have you been to precentral yet? I've had mine for about two weeks, so I can help with all the configuration. After installing a couple of patches, it will get much more responsive, I promise you
here is where all you new Touchpad users need to go http://forums.precentral.net/webos-tablets/ all the info you could ever need to tweak it to maximum performance. Also shows how to maximize the homebrew app community. There are a lot more apps than most people realize....and a lot of the better webos developers have said they will continue supporting the homebrew scene.
oh absolutely, I've been using webOS for a couple years, and the way it handles multi-tasking is the best mobile interface to me and I've used both droids and apples. when Palm owned it, we used to bemoan the fact that Palm didn't have the money to do webOS justice, so when HP bought it I had high hopes they would put the necessary support behind making it the best product. instead, we get the travesty of the last few days. It will be a cold day in hell before I give them any more money.
Prior to me deving on Android, i was really excited about webOS. I love it, i'd love to develop something for it once I can get my hands on a touchpad
here's the link for getting a touchpad directly from hp once available. they will email you: http://h41112.www4.hp.com/promo/webos/us/en/tablet/touchpad-availability.html
Snatched on up from that DataVis ebay. Hows the note taking ability on it? I'm banking on the probability that Team TouchDroid will crack it and I'll run android on it!
it has basic note ability, there are apps that take that a little further, but a full fledged document editor isn't done yet. its just a matter of time, that is the most popular app request right now. One of the homebrew guys will get that done soon.
just for clarification, by notetaking ability i mean the ability to handwrite notes with a stylus. any thing on there good for that?
from what i gather, alot of places (best buy and amazon) did not drop their prices. instead they are returning their inventory to HP. so i think that means that HP will have some back in stock and for sale soon. but if it was any like today...good luck lol.
