This isn't about qualifications its about winning. There are many MN Republicans who would prefer Bachmann not represent the 6th District (there are many more though who prefer her) but because she wins she is their candidate until someone else shows they can win more than she can.
No, the idiots are the ones that go to these rallies, call into the programs and other such things that make up something near 70% of the people who actually vote. The rest of America is stuck in traffic, still at work trying not to be fired, making dinner for their kids, or any of the other million things that sane, normal people have to get done in their daily routine and not have time to think about these issues.
i agree, most americans don't have time to educate themselves on the issues. the issues are complicated and unfortunately the taxes are killing us soundbites win attention battles
