Any risk of that gal hurting Virginia Beach too bad? I've got a trip planned in a couple of weeks, and I desperately need the break.
It's already a Cat 2 and predicted to hit Outer Banks as Cat 3. Let's hope that there won't be major damage to VA beach! This hurricane is getting huge
Chron is reporting that it could be in Chesapeake Bay as a hurricane on Sunday. If so, Virginia Beach will get nailed.
I'm going with a path trending east missing the U.S. coast altogether. A cold front coming off of the east coast should send it off to sea.
Irene looks like a fish storm to me. No threat to the US, but of course the weather channels wouldn't want to admit to that and lose ratings right now.
Thank goodness. I'm sure everyone along the eastern seaboard from Florida to Maine are relieved to know there is nothing to worry about thanks to your brilliant insight. The coast is clear everyone. There is nothing to see here.
Thanks! I didn't know whether or not to trust that guy, but now that you're backing him up I can believe it!
Fish storm aye? Do you know what the meaning of a fish storm is? They eye of the storm doesn't have to reach land mass in order for the storm to affect land, especially a storm like this which is large in size. Take into account storm surge and the fact that half the storm will be on land, I don't know how you think this is a fish storm.
The upper east coast is woefully prepared for a major hurricane. I remember reading an article of "what if" a major hurricane struck NYC...not good stuff.
Irene made landfall in PR; therefore, not fish storm. Irene is slamming the Bahamas; therefore not a fish storm. Irene will most likely make a landfall in the NC Outer Banks or New England area, even if it misses these areas it's headed for Nova Scotia Canada; therefore, not a fish storm.
