You seem angry. Let me comfort you by pointing out that you're wealthy enough to afford a maid, and you can dedicate some of the money that you're making off of your "friend" to pay her.
Growing up we had a live in maid/nanny that lived with us for several years. She was from Guatemala and we considered her part of the family. She eventually got pregnant and both her and her daughter lived with us for a while. She's still a family friend.
yep. can hear my dad now when i was a kid. "AAAAAARON... come downstairs and pass me the remote!" yep. the remote that was directly in front of him on the coffee table while watching tv.
I wonder how many middle-class white people would EVER consent to being a maid or butler, even if they were dead broke and needed the money to survive.
You know, I'm realizing while reading this thread that many of us have a different conception of what a "maid" is - when I think of it, I think of someone who basically lives in the house and does all the housework and gets paid a small salary in addition to room and board. Apparently, people who hire cleaners for temporary/weekly/monthly cleaning also refer to the cleaners as "maids" - this doesn't seem like such a big deal to me, but the live-in room-and-board maid seems pretty extreme.
I'm surprised it took two pages before Thadeus gave his usual "I hate people with money" post. Even more surprised it took 3 pages before he gave his "I REALLY hate WHITE people with money" post.
they live in a separate structure on the compound...it's like their own place...except better - no transportation problems + an interesting relationship w/the landlord.
