Lol sorry! I was born in '91, so I vaguely remember things during that era - but I love the Rockets to death (especially the Hakeem/Rudy T era) so don't hate me!

I thought the Clutch City nomer was given to us after the series against Phoenix in 95, when Elie made the Kiss of Death shot and we eventually became the first team to win the championship from the 6th seed with the help of Drexler. Turns out we've had nice history of "clutchness" before that. I'm a late bloomer I guess  Thanks for correcting me!

    Phoenix yes, wrong year.

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=206988

Clutch City was the named given to the 93-94 team after they were labeled Choke City after blowing big leads against the Suns in game 1 and game 2.

the 2nd championship was double clutch.

Don't worry about it. As long as you want to learn about the rockets history you are at the right place.

P.s. will NBA 2k12 also come out for the PC?

Ewing should've been there just as the Rockets' matchup.
Not too sure about Pippen being there as a legend on his own too...

I don't play many video games any more, so it doesn't make much difference to me, but it would have been nice for the 1985-86 Celtics' opponent to have been the Twin Towers team. Playing as Ralph Sampson would be awesome.

'94 Rockets? Dreamshake? They just nabbed my $60 bucks.

Also: Bizarre that they don't have the 80s Celtics matching up against the 80s Lakers.

    The Legend: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

The Game: The 1986-87 Lakers vs. The 1986-87 Celtics

Why he's in the game: Beyond the coolness of the goggles and skyhook, Kareem helped change the NBA with his scoring touch and finesse from the center position. "Before Kareem, the center was all about being big and strong, but Kareem was quick and agile," Boenisch said. "He's a six-time league MVP, multi-time champion, and the leagues all-time leading scorer. Besides, it's the "Showtime" Lakers. How can you argue with that?"

I am loving this mode a lot, especially with how much effort they are putting into presentation and the styles of each player. I'm also glad that we are not just getting the 15 teams the legends are on, but also 15 more who have legendary players of their own.

I agree with the list almost completely, though I do think Barkley is the obvious missing candidate, but he nor Reggie Miller will be in a game until they sign with the NBPA's licensing program.

David Robinson should be in over Ewing, no questions asked. He is a better player in nearly all aspects.

I do like Isiah Thomas as a legend, but I would not have minded dropping him in favor of Elgin Baylor or Moses Malone.

So, these should have been the match-ups IMO

Michael Jordan and '91-'92 Bulls vs '91-'92 Cavaliers and Larry Nance
Magic Johnson and '90-'91 Lakers vs '90-'91 Blazers and Clyde Drexler
Larry Bird and '85-'86 Celtics vs '85-'86 Hawks and Dominique Wilkins
Hakeem Olajuwon and '93-'94 Rockets vs '93-'94 Knicks and Patrick Ewing
Oscar Robertson and '70-'71 Bucks vs '70-'71 Lakers and Jerry West
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and '86-'87 Lakers vs '86-'87 Celtics and Larry Bird
Wilt Chamberlain and '71-'72 Lakers vs '71-'72 Knicks and Walt Frazier
Karl Malone and '95-'96 Jazz vs '95-'96 Sonics and Gary Payton
David Robinson and '94-'95 Spurs vs '94-'95 Orlando Magic and Shaq
John Stockton and '97-'98 Jazz vs '97-'98 Lakers and Kobe Bryant
Bill Russell and '64-'65 Celtics vs '64-'65 Lakers and Elgin Baylor
Jerry West and '70-'71 Lakers vs '70-'71 Hawks and Pete Maravich
Julius Erving and '82-'83 Sixers vs '82-'83 Bucks and Sidney Moncrief
Scottie Pippen and '95-'96 Bulls vs '95-'96 Heat and Alonzo Mourning
Isiah Thomas and '88-'89 Pistons vs '88-89 Bulls and Michael Jordan

I believe leaving out the great Cavaliers teams of the early 90s is an absolute travesty. Nance, Price, and Daughtry were an awesome trio, and certainly deserve credit for almost taking out the Bulls.

Love Dikembe, but due to my belief that Ewing should not be one of the 15, I called for reliving game 7 of the '94 Finals. Clutch City all over again, baby.

With the Admiral's Spurs no longer going to be constantly beaten on, Malone needed a new team to play. The Jazz had some great battles with the Sonics, so I thought it'd be a good match-up.

David Robinson is moved up in Legend Status, and now takes Ewing's original opponent. The Admiral vs. Diesel!

I wanted the '82-'83 Sixers, as that team had not only Erving but Malone as well.

The Bulls pitted against the Heat seem like a strange choice, but I understand that 2K is going for match-ups that will include the greatest players. This Heat team had Mourning and Hardaway going up against the 72-10 Bulls.

Thoughts? Hope some of these teams will make it in as DLC, at least.

The game we all wanted to see in the finals!!!

Cannot wait to see what modders do to bring a full 93-94 season replay for the PC.

I am cool with the clutch city version of the Rockets, but I really wish they would have showcased Kareem against the 85-86 Rockets. He was still a beast in that series, but the greater thrill would come from playing with Stick, Dream, & The Crackheads. That was great 80's basketball.

I bet the game creators love doing all these old school players. With every new player they have to be able to create all their hairstyles for authenticity and each and every tattoo.

With most old school players (if not all) its a simple skin texture with no ink!!!

They were able to recreate Malone's douchiness to a stunning degree of accuracy.

But the Utah crowd in the background appears unrealistically diverse.
