1.) IJ Raiders of the Lost Ark
    2.) IJ Last Crusade
    3.) PoTC Black Pearl

Those are great. The rest of the franchises are good to meh.

Star Wars tie-in is part what puts Indy on top, Harrison Ford is in both and is just legend.

Johnny Depp is a fantastic actor. There's that little bit of thought where you think - he was so good as Edward Scissorhands.

With Indy its - thats Han f***ing SOLO style x 5.

That doesnt mean anything to the actual quality of the movies. Just its enough to influence your opinion on them.

Although the poll isn't really about the absolute quality of the movies (it's about the adventure aspect), I do have to say that Keira Knightly's lack of ability to close her mouth or purse her lips is enough to take away points from the Pirates series.

I won't let nostalgia sway me. The first Pirates of the Carribean was better than any Indiana Jones movie. The achilles heel of the Pirates franchise is the excessively silly action which only got worse as the series went on. But, Indiana Jones wasn't exactly immune from this either.

The pirates story got too complicated. Brethren court, pieces of 8, all the backstabbing. It just felt that they were forcing a storyline just so they could make a trilogy out of what was a great movie. Maybe that was the deal with the Indy trilogy also, but I was too young to for cynicism back then.

Interesting that you mention this movie. Did anyone else see the trailer before Planet of the Apes for what is apparently a copy of that movie but with a dude. It stars Jonah Hill and it looks terrible. I guess if you're him you have to take what you are offered.

Seriously?.. Wtf? Pirates are some of the crappiest movies I've ever seen. No plot. Horrible acting. Horrible script.
Good special effects and that's about it. The 2nd and third made me want to shoot myself. Didn't even bother watching the 4th

Nah Indy movies were great. They all had their own plot. Where in pirates I don't think anyone can explain wtf was going on. Horrible over acting that became lame. Just thinking about the movie pisses me off for some reason. It's one of the rare films that makes my blood boil cause it's so crappy.

Summed up my feelings exactly. Fortunately after hearing all the bad news on Indiana 4 I never watched it to not tarnish my good memories of the franchise. After watching Pirates 2 I lost all interest in any of the films besides the first one. That one was golden.
