    I always say . .
it is always easy to critisize and plan . . .
when you don't have the whole story.

I think when you trying to get elected. . .you don't have the whole story
    The incumbant does. . .

Then . . once u have the job . . you see all the limitations and previous deals you have to uphold. You see that maybe things are worse than you thought.

You blew his mind. A cut in spending to make up for loss revenue doesn't make sense to those people. He will keep believing that a government can reduce taxes, while continuing to spend freely and not paying for it with budget cuts. "Borrow and spend" is the new way to debt reduction.

Well, how do you think things get paid for? The Tooth Fairy?

You see, when you spend the same amount but make less....ah, never mind...

The 'Tea Party' is a benign tumor that will soon fall off the face of this country...

    Kind of like a mole.

americans learned quickly these last two years you can't have your cake and eat it to (whatever that dumb cliche' means).

said this in another thread, when republicans won the house last year, i basically resolved myself to two more years of the tax cuts. luckily, over the past year americans learned that if you want your services, they have to be paid for.

the shift was the paul ryan budget proposal. dude actually suggested ending medicare in favor of more tax cuts. he killed the republicans with that stupidity. the tea party overplayed their hand but its not particularly their fault. americans really thought that all the problems are gov't waste and we can have lower taxes and keep the services we like. everyone is learning a lesson.

Well Americans want everything. They want social security, they want medicare, they want strong defense, they want low taxes and they want small government. Of course US should always be the number one power in the world in economics and standard of living and military might. Most of the people in this country do not know what reality is.

I think Bernie Sanders would object to this article's suggestion that "terrorist" and "socialist" are somehow equally offensive rhetoric that needs to be toned down.

I don't think the question re: Biden is unfair. Biden was over the top with that "terrorist" comment and, accurate or not (in an economic sense), the choice of words was not helpful. I do understand why he used it, though: likely out of the frustration of the debt limit negotiations.

In any case, I think Obama handled the question well. He apparently sought out the guy who asked the question to talk some more afterwards. Not that it'll turn the Tea Party guy's political views around, but it's what a President should do.
