because it's practice and there is no need to save timeouts. Regroup with the coaches and personnel and figure out who needs to go in. It's really no big deal at all
That would be all well and good if he had a real game track record of being wise with timeouts, challenges, etc... He needs to practice not making dumb decisions.
The offense has really stunk this half. INT on the first play. 3 and out. First down then 3 and out. 3 and out. 3 and out.
You don't want him to call a TO to preserve field position? On the punt after the TO, Maynard kicked it out of bounds at the 9. Who knows what happens if you take the penalty and back it up 5 yards.
It's just 5 yards. I would trade the Jets starting at the 14 for an extra timeout. Now the Texans are behind and could very well need it (yes I know it's preseason).
BTW, how often has our ST been any good? I know Joe Marciano is supposed to be regarded as a good ST coach, but he's been here from the beginning and aside from Andre Davis returning kicks and Jacoby returning some punts a couple of years ago, I can't recall the special teams being very special. Just seems odd to me.
