I would call T-Mac evil and that the moments with him were all bad. There are plenty of good times with T-Mac, just the negativity far outweighed the good he brought at first. No one denies that he had ungodly basketball skills and in a away, that is why most of us were so frustrated with him. This was a guy that was the supposed leader of our who is capable of so much, but always falling short again and again. I do sincerely wish T-Mac will get his head on straight and figure out how to actually help out the team instead of being Me-Mac, just not on our team.

There a signs of people who are Tofs or infected with that disease.
If you drag rockets players who were league MVPs with the rockets in a discussion of Tracy .
    you might be tof.
When you start using quantum leap technology to put Tracy on championship teams with great team chemistry and coach player relations you might be tof.
If at any point you reminsce about any Orlando magic team that got beat by a Steve and cat rockets team, you might be tof.
The cure is to watch the rockets and stop fantasing about what if scenarios you know won't happen.

I have never made this request... but
    PLEASE PLEASE lock this up.
We are not going to bring back Mcgrady even if he pays us.

I have nothing against the man
but signing him would go against what we stand for as a franchise
and would hold us back for however long he's here.

You people seriously, and I mean seriously, need lessons in reading comprehension. Moses is not even in the same league as McGrady, there's absolutely no argument there.

I WAS NOT DIRECTLY COMPARING THEM. I was showing the faulty reasoning behind a team's post-departure success being irrefutable "proof" of a player being a cancer by using one of the greatest Rockets of all time as an example. The Rockets had better success after Moses left. This does not mean Moses was a bad player or a cancer.

But once again, the tinman coalition does what they do best.

Interesting to see a guy take potshots at Hakeem, like his bad memories were ANYWHERE CLOSE to the backstabbing/bed****ting that Tracy (And Scottie) pulled,

Never thought I would see a Houston fan stoop to such lows.

(Damn, bringing Moses into a Tracy thread as well?)

Moses, Hakeem... I apologize. They know not what they do...

Sorry bro, but your talking yourself in circles. Your points make no sense. I can see your one of those people that you can't reason with. Double talk, spin, spin. I'd rather beat my head against a brick wall.

You believe what you want. Most of us know the truth. Call me what you want But I will not let you or any other Tracy side kick rewrite history.

Ah yes, once again arguing with emotion instead of reason. Your troupe really does resemble religious zealots, I hope you realize that. You've, again, missed the point completely but it's to be expected at this point I suppose.

Why...don't they make sense, exactly? You've been saying that quite a lot, but I'm starting to believe that you can't actually understand what I'm saying. I'm sure you'd rather beat your head against a brick wall, though I can't say that'll do anything to help with your comprehension abilities.

Truth? Rewriting history? Jesus christ, right back to the tinman coalition shtick. You people really are hopeless. I've said it before, so allow me to reply with just quotes.

If you still don't understand, I think it'd be better for everyone if you just beat your head against a brick wall.

Sorry bro, but I'm done arguing with you. I can see there will be no reasoning with you even if this thread went to 100 pages, and the same for me. I'd rather beat my head against a brick wall. I will not change my mind on Tracy.

At the same time, you are talking yourself in circles and most don't even get your point any more. I will continue to support the Roxs and refuse to let some rewrite history.

Moderators, please lock this thread up asap. This has gone on too long.

To reason with me, you must begin by using reason. If it is beyond your grasp, then you are correct. There will be no reasoning with me. I have to repeat my points because you never understand it.

Nobody is trying to rewrite history. Nobody is trying to stop you from supporting the Rockets. I am trying to stop you from posting like ignorant jackasses. If not by reasoning alone, then by war of attrition, with logic as my weapon.

One down, 500 more to go.

Tracy in Orlando gave Orlando the #1 pick, cause that Tracy in Orlando who the TOFs salivate over, gave them the worst record. Therefore allowing them to pick Dwight Howard in the draft.

21-61, Finished 7th in NBA Atlantic Division (Schedule and Results)
Coach: Doc Rivers (1-10), Johnny Davis (20-51)
Also got Doc Rivers, you know the championship coach of the Celtics fired.

the next year with a rookie Dwight Howard, the Magic had a BETTER RECORD.

Moses took the Rockets to the Finals, that was the best he ever did with the Rockets team wise.
    <iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/eI7oPXu_vcU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Moses left Houston after this season
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/HOU/1982.html

At least he took the team to the playoffs not to the NBA Draft.
After he left the Rockets TRULY SUCKED.
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/HOU/1983.html
14-68, Finished 6th in NBA Midwest Division (Schedule and Results)
    Coach: Del Harris (14-68)

That led the team to drafting Ralph Sampson.
Then the following year, they drafted some guy named Akeem.

Then in 1986 the Rockets made it back to the NBA Finals, which at that time was the best the Rockets ever did with Moses Malone.

Dwight Howard and Moses Malone both took their teams to the Finals. Tracy did not take any of his teams close.

You are suffering from the TOF knowledge of NBA history, which is basically a blank book where you basically write anything you want in it.

Any other TOF myths you want me to dis spell with facts or any other real Rockets history you didn't know?

Tracy McGrady's last season in Toronto was this season.
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/TOR/2000.html
    Lost Eastern Conference First Round

    The NEXT SEASON.
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/TOR/2001.html
Lost NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals (4-3) versus Philadelphia 76ers

Moses Malone left the Rockets in 82
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/HOU/1982.html

The Rockets sucked so bad they had back to back top picks in Dream and Ralph!

And why are you talking about championships? Tracy McGrady won none for any team.

The bar should be set on how much improvement the team does afterwards not 12 years after someone left.

I kind of see where cuddie's coming from here. T-Mac's sour departure made it so fans tend to overlook his great years. Also, he and Yao gets way too much blame in general for 1st round playoff disappointments when those two played their ass off. But they shouldered the blame of some of the worst supporting cast in NBA history.

That said, you can't bring old Rockets into any discussion under any circumstances. If you want to use loose parallels, at least use players on other teams since there's no emotional attachments. I mean, you might have trouble getting people to agree T-Mac's better than Kenny Smith or Mario Elie, much less mention him in the same breath as Hakeem or Moses.

Where, exactly, have I misrepresented facts? Where have I rewritten history?

The Rockets made it back to the Finals after Moses' departure because of the players they attained in Ralph Sampson and Hakeem Olajuwon. They later won the championship, twice, because of Hakeem Olajuwon, not because Moses left.

The Magic made it back to the Finals after Tracy's departure because of the players they attained in Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis, not because Tracy left.

Both players were the best players on their respective teams before their departure.

    This part is important.
Because Moses is held in such revere here, and the popular opinion of Tracy is that he's the devil incarnate, it's very easy to jump to radically different conclusions from similar situations thanks to confirmation bias. You're willing to invoke the single cause fallacy in one situation and not the other, whereas both cases are incorrect.

Using Moses as an example has obviously ruffled some feathers in the tinman coalition of fanatic zealots, so here are some more recent examples:

Grizzlies go 0-3 in the first round with Pau Gasol. Pau Gasol leaves, Grizzlies get past the first round and lose the semifinals in 7 games. Pau Gasol is garbage.

Bulls go 1-4 in the first round with Ben Gordon. Ben Gordon leaves, Bulls make it to the ECF after posting the best record in the league. Ben Gordon is garbage.

Pistons go 0-4 in the first round with Grant Hill. Grant Hill leaves, Pistons make a consecutive string of ECF and finals appearances with one championship. Grant Hill is garbage.

Rockets go 0-4 in the first round with Tracy McGrady. Tracy McGrady leaves, Rockets win one playoff series. Tracy McGrady is garbage.

My original intent was to demonstrate a similar situation using a player that NOBODY on this board should even consider to be a cancer, or a bad player. I wanted to show that emotion, be it positive or negative, often leads you to draw conclusions that are incorrect, i.e. "Ryan Bowen is a contending starter because he was a ROCKET, dammit!"

By drawing parallels between players that are on the complete opposite sides of the Clutchfans spectrum, I had hoped that this fallacious method of argument would become clear.

Apparently not. The majority of responses I have received are all along the lines of "how dare you compare them!" when direct comparison was never my intent. Ah well, lesson learned.

That's all there is to it. I don't care if people criticize TMAC for his last year here, but he did put in several great years here, played his hearts out, and played through injuries, while being surrounded by scrubs outside of Yao. He was an all-nba player for us, in one of the toughest positions in the league.

Hell Budinger would start 10/10 over David Wesley. Chuck Hayes 2 years ago would be an all-world compared to Ryan Bowen.

Move on. It's like every TMAC thread is a recycled one.

Stop posting then. If you go in with a mindset that can't be changed, there is no point in debating with you at all. That's why I stopped debating with Tinman. because he is stubborn and stuck in his ways, regardless of what evidence or proof is shown to him. And for the record, I'm not a T-Mac only fan. I'm not asking anyone to love or hate T-Mac. I honestly don't care. But to go into a thread with the intention of persuading other people and not being open to other ideas is the pinnacle of hypocrisy. And that's where my problem is with the staunch defenders of the championship years.
