RIP Jani I used to jam to Warrant all the time back in the day. Sadly today heaven isnt too far away.
First thing that popped in my mind is Cherry Pie and then Bobbie Brown. RIP to Jani who had a slice of that pie.

R.I.P.
I was checking Wiki for updates on the band. Wasn't sure if they were still around...but they have been around with band members changing frequently. Apparently, Jani Lane was out of the band for a while and came back in the late 2000s for a reunion...but he was soon out again and replaced for whatever reason. Warrant is one of those bands with rotating band members. I'm not very keen on bands who do this but, if band members are easily replaced, it doesn't say much about the band's music imo. I'm not saying it can't work as I know some band members are just not essential other than they are another instrument but a band like Rush, for example, couldn't and wouldn't replace a band member and keep going as Rush. They would cease to exist. It would no longer be Rush. Foo Fighters is an example of a band which has had some band members replaced but Dave Grohl drives making most of that music so obviously they couldn't replace him and keep going as Foo Fighters. As for Warrant, I couldn't tell you who is in Warrant and who is considered essential. I'm guessing none of them are essential and just the band name is. I would only probably recognize a few hit songs they had back in the day. Maybe they could or should do a Roman numeral for bands each time they change band members? Warrant XI is on tour with Dokken XV and Cinderella XX. lol Anyway, sorry to hear he was found dead in a hotel room. Noone wants to die in a hotel room I imagine.
Not to steal Lane's thunder, but searching old vids from the same era I found this one from WINGER...from only 4 years ago shocked to see the guy can still rock...or RAWK as the kids say today. <iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yPcIi_SSick" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Just b/c a band changes members doesn't mean they are easily replaced. Or would you also say Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc. etc. also must not have good music either? That's just off the top of my head in one particular genre.
