Night of the living dead (1968) Land of the dead Dawn of the dead (2004) Dawn of the dead (1978) In that order. Shaun of the dead and Zombieland are comedies and thus hardly worth a mention. I guess I was the only one who couldnt stand 28 days later, couldn't even finish it.
Night of the Living Dead is supposed to be the classic but it always pissed me off because the guy endured the entire night only to be shot in the morning by a human. Lame.
One of my former co-workers made this low-budget, low-rent, low-talent movie : http://www.amazon.com/Zombie-Campou...9902/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1313015274&sr=8-1 I think he did it on a $10,000 budget (don't remember). It's so bad, you almost have to laugh. There's an easter egg on the DVD where they recorded some lady driving around Dallas topless, too.
2001: A Space Odyssey - The computer turns on the humans Planet of the Apes - Apes have taken over the Earth Hmm, what other old ass 1968 movie can I ruin for people?
Not sure why comedies are being dismissed as zombie movies Add another vote for 28 Days Later. You can watch 28 Weeks Later if you can stomach an hour and a half of people making, bar none, the very stupidest mistakes you've ever seen in a zombie movie. Although Diary of the Dead does give it a run for most unbelievably stupid characters. Spoiler I mean really, you make it to an impregnable mansion with a ten foot brick wall and iron gates, and you just drive in and leave the gate open behind you? And then everyone just splits up and assumes they'll be ok? I was boiling when I saw that trash. Dawn of the Dead remake is great, so is the original. One movie no one has mentioned (probably for good reason) is Aaahh!! Zombies! It's cheesy funny, it's low-budget, and it's not scary, but they take it a different direction than most zombie movies. It's about four teenagers who get infected, but don't realize they've turned into zombies. The movie switches back and forth from their pov to the pov of the uninfected. Look up the trailer if you're interested, but I did warn you it was cheesy.
Wait a second...World War Z is NOT going to have an "R" rating? How is it possible to tell that story at PG-13?
ok..be a jerk then i don't care. I was just trying to no ruin classic movies for people who havent seen them. Fact: There are a lot of people who who havent seen older movies. It's not an impossible idea to understand...well not impossible if you arent a jerk.
Anyone who is a fan of Call of Duty: Nazi Zombies should check out Dead Snow. It is a Norwegian Zombie movie with some hilarious moments and has something most other Zombie movies don't, NAZI ZOMBIES. My buddies and I watched this and couldn't stop laughing. As long as you can read subtitles it should be pretty good. We caught it on Netflix and it isn't that long of a movie either. Check it out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Snow Its just something different. Something other than the Romero classics and 28 Days Later that people keep recommending.
