Been sitting at my desk all day with my earphones on and no music playing. So, I decided to play a song that I was listening to on my way to work...and for some odd reason, I cannot stop playing this song. Echo & The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon Incredible song. Eerily beautiful. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/aX1PwkgwsG0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
This song is great. My favorite is Show of Strength off their Heaven Up Here album. I was able to see them in '88 at the Civic Center Auditorium in SF. Great show, but it was funny too because The Screaming Blue Messiahs opened for them - a completely different sound - which annoyed all the goth kids.
www.countrylegends971.com Yes I am a redneck fossil. Slow to change, lives and enjoys the past. The good old days!
The soundtrack to Almost Famous, one of my favorite flicks. I'm older than the main character, being closer in age to the DJ, Lester Bangs, played by Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and can testify that the movie does a wonderful job showing a slice of a certain kind of life in the early 1970's, 1973, to be precise. I saw every band in the film live in concert, except for the fictional group, Stillwater. I don't recall seeing the Seeds play the crazy tune in the soundtrack, but I saw the Seeds. God, how I love this flick!
