Luckily the radio station I listen to here is NPR (national public radio) most if not all of the late afternoon is broadcasting BBC world news and Duechevella ( I totally butchered the spelling, but its Germany's national radio) So I hear a lot of European news on a daily basis. But you're right, locally it's hardly being mentioned.

I know who you were referring to. Your comment was very specific about him being held down and shot at point blank range, and it was very specific. There is no evidence for this so please don't state it as fact....
It may not be a fact, but it seems pretty damn plausible. A town with the majority of white cops and a history of racial tension, a supposed known "gangster" is killed by police, yet he doesn't have a confirmed gun, and never fired a single shot. Meanwhile, the cops are the only ones cited for firing their weapons. An eyewitness even states they saw this execution. And everyone that knew the guy described him as not even being that threatening. Oh and the police deny that he was killed in this fashion, oh no ****. These people had every-right to protest, and they did it in a proper fashion up until things got escalated. The police just murdered a man and are going to get away with it.

So police are now only allowed to use their gun after being shot at, or worse yet, after actually being shot? i read the article you posted, I guess I read something you didn't, because I didn't see "police murdered".
And on another note So the guy didn't ever fire gun, wasn't even known to have one. So how does a bullet from the only people with guns (police) end up lodged in their own radio? Sorry, but there is much more evidence citing this was an execution style killing rather than the police defending themselves.
Heck ya, and if a few teens or hoodlums get their skulls cracked open? Who cares? They should have thought of that before they went out rioting. Joe Horn would be proud. DD
Witnesses don't have a reason to lie either? Especially a 20 year old witness who doesn't want to be named? Wasn't too long ago some witness removed some criminals gun from the scene of a police involved shooting in San Francisco.
Regardless, what does this have to do with the owners of small independant off licences and newsagents whose livelihoods and sometimes homes have been destroyed?????
