    Other interesting findings:
-When asked whether they believed Muslims in America were sympathetic to Al-Qaeda, 92% of Muslims said they dont believe that Muslims in America are, 75% of those with no religion/Atheist/Agnostic said they dont believe Muslims in America are, and 70% of Jews said it. Only 56% of the Protestants and 57% of the Mormons polled said they believe Muslims in America are not sympathetic to Al-Qaeda.

-Muslim Americans have the highest approval of Obama and had the lowest approval of Bush.

-Muslim Americans are the most likely to have confidence in the honesty of elections.

-Muslim Americans have the lowest level of confidence in the military (70%); the second lowest was Nonreligionists with a confidence of 79% in the military. Every other group had at minimum 91% confidence. These two groups also have the lowest confidence in the FBI (Muslims at 60%, Nonreligionists at 69%)

Across the board, Catholics, Protestants, and Mormons tended to differ the most from Muslim American opinions, whereas Jews and Nonreligionists tended to share more common ground.

On a sidenote, for all the Jewish CF members observing Tisha B'Av, hope Tisha B'Av is going well (sorry not sure what the appropriate greeting is given that its a day of sadness/mourning....).

    A couple notes:

Why are we dragging religious sects into government issues? We should not be interested in the opinions of religious sects, regardless of who they are.

This poll means nothing. Its easy to voice your opinion when you can parade around in freedom 4000 miles away.

Nothing wrong with calling out those who commit babbling and incoherent lies about certain religious groups in America. Considering that a certain party loves to pray on Islamaphobic fears, the statistics clearly prove them wrong.

    Your panties... untwist them.

Not sure how a survey 'drags religious sects into government issues'....

Whether we should "care" about the opinions of religious sects, or any demographic group for that matter, is a matter of social relevance. Regardless of whether religious-based thinking is right or not, belief (or nonbelief) is an integral part of the American social landscape, and recognizing what disparate groups feel on issues enhances understanding across the pluralistic spectrum of this country.

In that sense, acknowledging others opinions and recognizing them serves to make us a more tolerant nation, which, if thats even an objective, means something....

As for the ease of voicing an opinion whilst parading around 4000 miles away, not sure who you're talking about?

Upon reading the thread title, my first guesses were "hummus" and "female mustache."
