Because it sure looks like he isn't getting respect in this article. Works with Howard and he has a career high in points average, but it must be because of his age. Worked with Kobe and Kobe only got better because already knows everything. I thought for sure others would see the blatant disrespect this joker of a columnist is giving The Dream.
He was at the 24 Hour Fitness on Beltway 8 and Westheimer the other day. Dude was with an Offensive Line of Bodyguards. Like 5-6 Swole ass brothers... I will say this. He was focused.
Who can he really elevate on our team? Hakeem is an all-timer, so it's fitting that he works with superstars. Greatness recognizes greatness. It's great to see Hakeem teach his post moves to the next generation, and they'll do the same to the younger players that come in later on. Hakeem will forever be known. And great to see Lebron knowing his weaknesses, and working on it. Still only 26. They should start tapping on the Yao fundraiser for the past 8 years. Well, Dream is only working with these guys for a few HOURS. I think what Hakeem tries to instill in those guys is confidence more than anything, and just fine-tuning their techniques. But yes, they should give him more respect. There's a reason they all go to Hakeem.
Lebron is already one of the most accurate shooters in the league. Compare his fg% the past 2 years to other good shooters like Kobe Bryant. He needs to work on his post game more, when the game is on the line its better to slash into the paint and use your post moves rather than shooting a step back fade away with a hand on your face.
Hakeem doesn’t only work with stars; he worked out with Gortat, Siler, and Deandre Jordan this summer. He offered to work out with Jordan Hill last summer, but Jordan Hill was too busy not being in the weight room and not working on his skills to get it set up. Anyway, Hakeem or no Hakeem, the Rockets have great big man resources as is. If our young bigs don’t get better, they only have themselves to blame.
Why the Rockets do not have him on their payroll is mind numbing to an older fan like me. Simply poor business, IMO. DD
Uh, who said anything about full time? Consulting would work too, sort of like CD's deal with the club. DD
I'm sure Hakeem's willing to work with any Rocket players when they need his services. We don't know how much Hakeem would want an official job with all his time he spends in Jordan.
I'm convinced it's the same reason Rudy T is not on the payroll. because Les Alexander pissed them both off.
Interesting. One of the most hated learning from one of the most loved. Also, Thabeet would do better to learn from Mutombo rather than Hakeem.
I was always under the impression that professional athletes, especially rich professional athletes, have their own gym at home.
