I loved me some NFL on NBC music. <iframe width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Kl4omgCgDwI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Not the current SNF music.
FOX used to be the best but they fell down hard after Madden and JB left...now it is the worst. I prefer CBS but I voted NBC because some of the CBS commentators are really bad.
I voted Fox. I'll readily admit my reasoning for voting that ways is odd and is no way to decide this, but it's the way I feel. I voted for Fox because I think Fox does a better job of making me feel like I'm watching a big game. I think it goes back to Madden and Summerall, but it has continued as Fox has been more at the forefront with HD programming. I've always thought their HD product was better overall. A few years back, CBS was only sending HD cameras to the top two or three games in the week while Fox was working with a complete set of HD cameras. The fact that Fox had most often broadcasted the Super Bowl doesn't hurt this perception either.
The networks take turns broadcasting the Super Bowl each year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_broadcasters
And FOX started the 480 Widescreen crap when CBS and others were doing HD. It took them a while to switch (and even a couple years after they switched to HD the end zone cameras were still in 480 wide). CBS was the first with all games in HD, but FOX was the first to have them all in widescreen.
Right. I know that. I should have been more clear. In my head, I associate the Super Bowl with Fox and that's what's behind my thinking.
I've enjoyed CBS pregame, I absolutely hated Shannon Sharpe a few seasons back but now he's my favorite. As far as in-game people, without Gus Johnson, it's nothing but Texans haters in Fouts, Eagle, and Tasker. For some reason stadiums look much nicer on FOX HD to me.
CBS/NBC are the best (with CBS in front until the Texans play on sunday night) ESPN has gotten better once they dumped Kornheiser for Gruden FOX just sucks
Fox has the most intrusive graphics, ESPN's ticker is distracting and just keeps running the same crap over and over. With my advancing age, I have less and less tolerance for all the commercials in football. As the money has gotten bigger, the ads are on the screen more than the actual game. So I always DVR the 12 o'clock game (Texans almost always) and start it about 1. I usually catch up with real time with a few minutes to go so I get the real time feel of the finish. For the 3 o'clock game (almost always the Cowboys) I flip to the Redzone channel on every break. My wife calls The Redzone the ADD channel because she always gets lost on which game they are showing.
I love NFL Network pregames and postgames shows, are amazing. Rich Eisen is a great host for NFL Network. ESPN Latin America commentators and analysts are very good.
