As always, no PBP in the thread. If you need that try one of the game cast sites. Keep discussion to this series. If it is not about this series it goes somewhere else. 8-5 Yovani Gallardo, RHP (12-7, 3.69) vs. J.A. Happ, LHP (4-13, 6.01) 7:05 on FSH 8-6 Chris Narveson, LHP (7-6, 4.39) vs. Brett Myers, RHP (3-11, 4.65) 6:05 on FSH 8-7 Zack Greinke, RHP (9-4, 4.41) vs. Bud Norris, RHP (5-7, 3.47) 1:05 on FSH
I'll take the over as well... Let's set both his BB and IP at 4.5. I'll take the under and over but not by much in either case. Maybe 4 BB and he gets pulled with 1 out in the 6th.
Nothing against the Reds but if the Stros win 2 of 3 from this staff...I'd be impressed. Sanchez batting 3rd depresses me.
I can't imagine a less impressive 3-hole hitter in the history of the Astros. Anything is possible but... I just checked the 1962 Colt .45's, who were terrible offensively, and even they were getting a .758 OPS from that spot.
Not quite sure why Mills doesn't simply swap Barmes and Sanchez, or why Sanchez is starting at 3B at all.
I suppose when comparing stats, we look overmatched in EVERY series. But ill go with our winning % and say we take one.
I don't like Mills at all anymore. JD Martinez has an amazing game in the number 3 spot, so you reward him the next time out by dropping him to 5th? Just a matter of time before Q is in the 3rd spot.
Cool, thanks. Why is Martinez, who just had a monster game, batting 5th- while Lee, who looks two steps above dead in the box, keeps his 4 slot? If they won't sit him, they could at least move him down in the order until he remembers how to hit. I don't have a problem with Sanchez batting third. There's a lot of speed at the top of the order and Sanchez likes to hit it up the middle, so I think he'll notch a few RBIs tonight if Bourgeois and Altuve can get on (which they should). My worry is Sanchez playing 3b. I've enjoyed watching Paredes play third, and I was hoping to see more of him tonight. But all of this is probably moot, because Happ is on the mound and that smells like a loss to me. Here's hoping somebody steps it up tonight and we win.
I dont get Mills love of Lee either. If we are going to sit in the basement this year anyway, especially at home, he could at least put in the players the home crowd wants to see.
Totally agree, man. If they're going to sell off fan favorites like Pence and Bourn to bring in the youth movement, then bring in the youth. Time to send El Caballo to the glue factory.
Haha I see what you did there. This is going to be ugly. Let's hope the young guys can cover for J.A. Hack. EDIT: Nevermind.
So whats the deal with Happ? Is he in some kind of slump or is this a daily showing? Havn't been able to watch him pitch this season.
