I hit their car, paid for it. The claim got closed. A month and a half later they reopen the claim citing "injuries", while they weren't even in the car. I'm not complaining about hitting their car. I'm annoyed that they are trying lie and cheat their way just to get some extra cash. Nothing but greedy people who try and live off of others.
Interesting how quickly you went from wondering about their intentions to determining they were liars, cheaters and greedy. Do you know why the claim was re-opened yet? Is it possible that your own insurance company requested it to contest how much they paid?
This quote made me hate you. YOU hit someone and YOU complain about how their car should have been able to withstand the collision! What a Douche.
You may have a legitimate case of insurance fraud on your hand or maybe there's more to the story. But being an actual "victim" of insurance fraud does not mean that you are not a douche or that you did not sound like a douche while complaining about it.
Did you ask them for their insurance and drivers license? You'd be suprised how that right there will end any claim. Also, you can call in the Po-Po. If one of them has any warrants, they'll bail and you'd never even had to deal with it other than getting your car fixed. You'd be suprised how many well-to-do folks driving Jags have an unpaid warrant out there.
OP: don't let random strangers from the internet get you down and distract you from your crusade against CHEAP IMMIGRANT MOOCHERS. You tell your lawyer to call these people up and threaten to deport their ass for having such a POS car that got probably got totalled from your MONSTER PREMIUM TRUCK OF DEATH barely touching the POS. Look on the bright side though: those moochers must have had a hard time before they tried to cheat the almighty insurance system and raise your rates: These dirty immigrants probably lost their jobs at taco bell because their cheap car got totalled and they couldn't afford to buy and fix another POS car from the measley insurance payment. These uneducated moochers probably didn't even get a free rental because they are stupid and can't speak English. They might have just spent thousands of dollars fixing the problems with the old POS car that weren't reflected in the insurance payment and now have to spend thousands more on their new POS car. All so that they can drive to whatever new minimum wage job their linguistically challenged abilitis could get. If these idiots had kids they probably have to decide between fixing problems with the new car and feeding their kids the immigrant equivalent of mayonaisse sandwiches. These people are too stupid to be like you and get a sweet deal on a COMPANY PREMIUM TRUCK. They probably sat there crying for weeks and weeks trying to scrape together some money before trying whatever dirty scheme their fellow illegal immigrants told them about.
I drive a '98 Sentra. Last year, I hit an illegal (DISCLAIMER: I don't know if he in fact was an illegal but he didn't have a license or insurance and didn't speak English so I'm kind of assuming). He was trying to cross a busy street when he didn't have room to cross. He pulled out in front of me, I jammed on my brakes but I skidded into his Isuzu Trooper anyway. No damage to his car but I got a big circle cut into my bumper where it made contact with his hubcap. He didn't wanted me to call the cops or get insurance involved and just wanted to pay me a couple of hundred bucks. The damage didn't look that bad but I had no idea how much it would actually cost to fix so I refused. It ended up costing $1,200 to fix. It's crazy that something that didn't look THAT bad almost technically "totaled" my car.
No my insurance company didn't request anything. The lady whom I spoke with for my insurance on the phone was wondering why they would of even reopened the claim.
I'm still waiting for an answer to this. Unless, the truck is indeed may of platinum, in which case, it's no wonder they saw $ signs.
You mean a diamond car with the puh-latinum wheels? <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EqxzT4vXc1k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> hidey hidey hidey hi
you're showing your age own up to the advise/ridicule in this thread, for your own good... back talking everyone in this thread is making yourself look foolish insurance companies cannot just gouge money for no good reason, especially if you claim that you've settled this case long ago just because the vehicle belongs to people who does not speak english and the vehicle is poor or in bad shape does not detract the integrity of those persons; they may not match your father's wealth, but you certainly do not have a wealth of discipline
