about to start part-time grad school while working at end of august, and need to unwind before school starts.

Sorry for the TMI. But does anyone have any recommendations on a lakeside rental in either lake travis or lake austin (or any lake reasonably close by?)

This is where we rented out our boat last time- they forgot to give us the water-skis, but we got extra rental time to make up for it.

We just rented from Easy Street Marina on Lake Travis last weekend for a buddy's bachelor party. They were great.

On the upside, there's probably some of this:

    Just one tip...

Do not dive in the water from any height. Many have gotten hurt/died this year on Lake Travis because they don't seem to understand what it means when the water levels are way down. They're finding entire freaking towns in the Highlands Lakes. Enjoy the boat ride. Go swimming...just don't jump in head first. You have no idea what's under there.

I'm guessing Lake travis is pretty low right now. Lake Austin is probably a much better bet during a drought. Try vrbo.com or homeaway.com or craigslist.

Don't want to thread hijack, but are there any spots in the Austin area lakes where you can go fishing from the bank rather than needing a boat? Would love to be able to drive a short distance and do some fishing on the weekends once I move up there.
