What do y'all see happening with Orton? Denver wants to trade him, but where to? Dolphins? Raiders? Bills?
All I know is I'm stoked to see Tebow start. Not because I'm a fan but it will be fun to see how he does. He's an exciting player to watch whether he fails or succeeds.
It's funny how qb blunders don't fall far from the tree. Just like seeing Kubiak stick with Carr or the Shanahans stick with Beck/Grossman.
Not so fast on anointing Tebow as the starter: http://espn.go.com/blog/afcwest/post/_/id/29965/signs-pointing-against-tim-tebow
it's too early to call it a blunder because Tebow isn't starting just yet. Also, Carr had 1 year and was promptly removed and replaced. Not exactly like he was given multiple chances.
Nice to see the shoe finally fitting the other foot, because for a while there no one was allowed to say anything critical about the guy. Now that he can't even compete with ORTON, the analysts have no choice, else expose their double standards. Especially Meril Hoge. But I notice with TEBOW, hoge is now all of a sudden sticking to critiques of his skills, not insulting his intelligence or pretending to know what Tebow's seeing & thinking out there (as he has done with other, similar qb's in the past).
Orton actually had better stats last year in 2010 when the Broncos went 4-12, compared to the previous year when they were 8-8. Its the Broncos defense allowing the MOST POINTS in the league and the running game turning bad why they lost, not Orton. Tebow can't turn around a team with terrible defense. It'd be like the Texans last year with one of the worst defenses in decades going from Matt Schaub to Matt Leinart. Would just be a change of pace move not really a best-chance-to-win move.
I mainly watched Orton from his years in Chicago and I've always thought he was a solid QB, the Bears OC sucked when he was there so he was a game manager. That being said he's smart and can make very impressive throws. Feel bad for the guy, he doesn't deserve the kind of crap he's getting in Denver.
Never seen so much hate for a white player before. The chances of Tebow succeeding aren't very high, but I wish he would just to show these "haters."
Josh McDaniels took a gigantic turd on the Denver Broncos franchise. Maybe it was time for Shanahan to go, but man, they couldn't have gone in a worse direction.
He put up stats in a dumbed down offense just like VY did. There's a reason he'll be on the bench, again, just like VY.
