Actually it only shows how fundamentally evil the place is. The civility is only demanded of one side. Numerous liberals get away with being jerks, but that's how this place rolls, so they don't suffer any consequences. It is what it is.

Anyway, best wishes on your health issues.

LOL, what a turd of a post... with a "get well" cherry on top.

    Don't take somebody's near-death experience and use it as a poo-launcher.

Thumbs, glad you're ok. On a D&D-esqe note, has this experience changed the way you feel about anything socially/politically? Sometimes profound experiences like this can alter the way people think or change their values in some way, just curious.

Apologies for the delayed response, but typing is not as easy as it once was. No, I've not altered my views socially or politically. I did win a few Tea converts ... or at least they said so to maintain my unbridled ebullience over surviving. Nonetheless, I was flattered that nurses and staffers from three different floors came to say goodbye when I checked out. The ICU charge nurse told me no one had ever hummed Ode to Joy with such relish while being sponge bathed. I couldn't help it. Life is good.

Take care of yourself, old chap. You need to stick around to help represent the physically bummed out wing of the D&D Party. While our politics often disagree, our bodies both seem to think that raising Cain is the way to go. I'd tell mine to go to hell, but if Hell exists, the damn thing might try to drag me along. Hang in there... I've heard life beats the alternative! ;-)-

(besides, we need a veteran newspaperman for historical purposes)

I'm back, and I admit I am not moving or thinking very fast, but the world is coming back into focus. Can't say I had a great time at the hospital this time, but I am luckier than any of the people I saw in cardiology.

BTW, Rockets2k, they used sutures and glue, and now I have a positively sexy scar.

Good to hear thumbs. Keep at it, it'll get better soon enough, just dont push it. that was a hard lesson for me to learn, Im not used to doing anything halfway.

I found that Mederma did a pretty fair job helping the scar fade. If I had used it for a longer period the scar would be hard to see.

Best wishes to you, take care of yourself.

Thanks, Batman. There is still one more operation to go, but it is the least complicated. This will delay my return to my house in Houston to September or possibly October but in time for the opening of the season -- if there is a season. Once I regain some energy, I look forward to some good-natured political sparring with you, Rashmon et al.
