Hey Guys, My wedding is coming up in December and I need to start scouting some suits and tuxedos. I know there is Al's Formal Wear and Men's Wearhouse. I know the rentals are usually pretty loose fitting and baggy, my groomsmen requested something a little more slim and form fitting. Do you guys have any places you recommend? Thanks!
I'm getting married in December as well. I'm waiting on the Men's Wearhouse deal where if your groomsmen buy their suits at a discount, the groom gets his for free. It works for tux rentals, too, I think. My friend did the suit thing last year. We got to keep our suits, and it was tailored to how we wanted it to fit. Men's Wearhouse is where he got the deal. There are some really nice suits that are formal enough for a wedding there.
I'm going with a tie. The vest is more non-traditional. It'll be a round-cut at the neck of the vest instead of the traditional v-cut. It'll show the top of the tie knot and a little of the tie itself. It actually lookys like a sweater vest under the suit jacket. I went to a wedding recently where everyone wore bowties. It looked fun, but I'm afraid it'll just be another trend. Why don't you wear a tie for the ceremony, then change to a bow tie for the reception. Aaron Brooks it up!
I'm using Al's for a wedding in October... The fit varies, dependent on the brand and style. Works for me though...
Tahos Formal Wear inside Willowbrook Mall. It's about $100 to rent and $150 to buy, great service also. They accomodated me with all my needs when I needed a tux. Much cheaper than Al's.
Al's really does blow, they should add a slim line or go out of business. Sucks when you know more about fitment and even your own measurements (after they've measured you) than the people working there. But I think that's the difference between single guys and married guys, the ones getting married have no clue about style so they settled for locking down the puss they could manage to get. Your groomsmen are single looking to take out some bridesmaids aren't they? Thus they requested proper fitment.
