Congratulations, you get the "buzz-kill-based-on-facts" award of the day. You're so right, and that was just so wrong...
Yeah, I'm a little apprehensive to see how he does in coverage. That's where footwork, and discipline are really going to have to come into play for guys like him and Connor Barwin. They are so used to putting their hands in the dirt, and going hard after the QB play in and play out, that getting your head up, and around to see where the TE/FB is headed might prove to be difficult at first. We'll see though. I'm excited to see what this team can do.
That's actually not true. Everyone was really worried about how bad KJ looked in the training camp. He kept being beat over and over again in camp. They had false hope that it would correct once the season started. So its not the same. Nice negativity try though.
I feel like the Texans must sign Ty Warren. We need that veteran/champion caliber player on the d-line. I wouldn't mind having Warren and Smith start on the line and Watt come in on passing/breather situations. We have all the talent in the world, arguably top 5 talent wise in the league. I think Manning will bring that toughness to our secondary that we have lacked since Drob's major injury. Joseph will allow too blitz more as we can put him on someone and trust him to contain his guy. This team has the talent to win, but maybe it's time for the Texans to start bringing in guys who are used to winning. It's a contagious trait. We have a little bit of that in Antonio Smith, and he was by far our best player on defense last year go figure. Warren should be an automatic sign if healthy.
I remember it vividly. On the first day of camp last year, Andre beat Kareem so badly on a double move that he was 15-20 yards behind. I think in general, there's a tendency among writers to look for the positives on rookies at camp... but there were definitely alarm bells on Kareem from the get-go.
I agree with the signing of Ty. The texans have to get another veteran d-lineman who can give quality snaps and a guy like warren who is used to winning could help as a mentor. I'm be happy with smith as well but Ty should be the first get.
It won't be as bad as weaver dropping back to cover and coming away with a pick. Any pictures of this new lighter mario?
Don't get me wrong. Kareem was bad last year. Johnson beats me by 20 yards everytime on his double move. Signed, 99 percent of the corners in the league.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...llips-scheme/2011/08/01/gIQAgqFcnI_story.html there are 4 pics in the slide show and there is one decent one of Mario. Same pictures in this article too but a little better presentation. http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700167535/Mario-Williams-begins-transition-to-OLB.html
What happened to the defensive backfield guy from last year who was such a character. He was actually fairly good, certainly aggressive. I just can't think of his name.
Pollard. Not sure any teams are really interested in him. I'd take him back as a situational & special teams specialist for the right price.
McClain_on_NFL John McClain Texans are interested in Ahmard Hall and Lawrence Vickers to replace Vonta Leach.
