Randy moss sucks, don't expect him to come here and change his tune. As soon as things don't go his way he will shut it down. I honestly rather take a fly on TO coming off that injury.

A little blurb on Vickers and Warren...basically a rehash of what we already know with one little addition in that Warren apparently retook his physical again and this time passed.

I honestly cannot fathom how the Texans let Warren leave without a contract if he is healthy.

    Please let him be healthy.

Look Mark, we're going with who we got and I believe in them. Those kids are good kids and we need to let them show what they can do. If those kids are battlefightin' for that defensive end job, workin' a good sweat, that's all I can ask of them. ... You know John, I'm just so proud of 'em. Each day, out in this heat, battlin' their tails off. Wade's workin' them hard and we'll be better in the end because of it. I have no doubt about that. Is that it guys? ... Thanks

    :p

Vickers? How is his run blocking? I read somewhere that last season was his worst season run blocking.

    What about Ravens fullback? McClain?

He said he wants more carries, and we have a lot of backs as it is so I don't see us going after him.

With practice beginning on Monday don't expect to see Joseph or Manning participating. Due to the CBA any new free agents are not allowed to engage in any physical activity until August 4.

There's still some negotiations going on with the new CBA that pertains to benefits, worker's comp, etc. If an agreement gets done before August 4 then the free agents may begin participating in practice.

Now that things have calmed down from free agency, here's a nice article on Andre Johnson and why he's the best wide receiver in the NFL:

    I especially liked this quote:

So they have to sit in bed all day, who's watching to make sure they don't get up?

guess there should be an official preseason thread now.

Just heard Cushing isnt practicing because he had minor knee surgery

I'm guessing he has a minor scope job in the offseason but I hadn't heard anything about it.

I pretty much called this when it looked like the Texans weren't valuing him as much as I thought they should have. If there's ever been a Ravens-type player in Free Agency, it's Vonta Leach. If you play physical, don't get hurt, and are an All-Pro at a position that's less valued around the league, the Ravens will take you. It's how they've built their team since they've been in Baltimore, and it's worked more often than not.

The Ravens are a power running team, Vonta is perfect for them. McClain wanted touches, Vonta doesn't. If I were the Texans, there is no way I would've matched that contract. They made the right choice, we have enough weapons and talented players on offense. We don't need to sink that much money into an auxillary player.

I agree with you on not matching the contract... But a FB is not an 'auxiliary' player. Especially on this team.
