you don't have to be fat to have a pulmonary embolism. I was in shape but when I was in a hospital bed for 2 weeks they had to give me blood thinners daily so i wouldn't have a blood clot from laying in one position for so long. Damn those sucked... right in the stomach too.
didn't know this could happen...how long can it take? I mean I've been in front of the computer or whatnot either studying or doing stuff for extended periods of time.
I guess that's why they say always take a 10 minute breather to get out of the chair, flex, and move around for every hour in front of the computer. Totally unrelated, but this reminds me of when I took SAT courses from Testmasters. They told us in between breaks to do jumping jacks and stuff to get the blood circulating. I did just that and people looked at me like... I was doing jumping jacks in between exams.
I'm always relieved when I find out that these stories aren't about one of my old friends. Though most of them get up for work and other stuff on a regular basis. I can't imagine how you would just sit like that. I don't even like to watch two movies in a row.
The man would still be alive if he was playing the Wii. On the serious note I better get off my butt often since I work at my computer.
harsh? I feel sorry for the guy, but he wasn't exactly committing war crimes, just falling prey to a human foible, as we all do from time to time.
I have thought long and hard about this... as extreme gamers have become a real problem. I do not respect an adult that spends huge amounts of time in front of a video game system to the point of being intellectual slobs, with no ambition and lack productivity. They do nothing to better the world, those around them or themselves. They have no self respect or sense of responsibility. They suck off society as mindless a$$holes. So now, not harsh.
