I just feel like there is going to be a *TWIST* or something along the way that'll lend insight into the WHY? of the aliens coming to earth. The show seemed like it was picking up some momentum, but it feels like its moving too slowly now.
I've been watching but its kind of becoming a chore, this last episode just had a really silly plot device that kind of annoyed me. Typically I don't go nuts into logic on these type of shows but Spoiler on the last episode they just attached that device which is supposed to be controlling the captured kids to that the main guys other kid so he can sneak in there to get his kid brother. They surmise that this alien race won't know whether the device is attached just because? WTF
Spoiler Exactly. There are a lot of moments in the show that don't seem logically correct. Okay fine, I'm guessing the harness lost it's potency after being off for so long so Hal can just slap it on without risking it affecting him...BUT REALLY? Hal trots in line and easily sneaks in. So are they saying that the Aliens are so stupid that they cannot count? I mean if we captured 7 prisoners of war and suddenly we had 8, a lot of people will wonder where in the hell the 8th one came from.
Spoiler Added to that they show the alien caressing the children as if its got some connection to them and it still can't tell one of them isn't part of the group
Spoiler I agree about the miscounting, that seemed implausible. But as for the harness, it looked to me like they put a barrier between him and the neck and just strapped it to him but did not attach it. I did not have a problem with that part. Like most sci fi shows, there are logical errors, but I think the human interaction in times of crisis is more realistic than a lot of other shows of the genre
Well... Spoiler The last episode wasn't so bad afterall. Something actually happened to move the story forward from the same old 'We're hiding and surviving from Aliens'
Yes it was much better, this twist will be interesting even if it was kind of telegraphed from a mile away.
Yeah, that was a plot mover, but you saw it coming when Spoiler they decided to "take a shortcut" and diverge the agreed upon path with the kids. Right then I said "he's working with the aliens".
that was the deal sealer, but i thought it was pretty obvious when Spoiler the dude fisrt showed up and gave the plan
The Moment the new guy we have never seen says his guys were gone we need your children I knew he was working for the aliens. This show is slightly disappointing but I will still watch; Moon Bloodgood keeps me coming back. I've been pretty bored since the third episode. Only thing I haven't seen coming is when that Doctor died; thought he was going to stick around a while. Falling Skies seems to be using every Sci-fi cliche under the sun. -Why did they make that 14 yr old boy a soldier? He hasn't shown any competence in that position even though the characters keep telling us he is different from the other children. -We saw the aliens execute 'zombiefied' children in one episode and caress them like they are one of their own in another? why are we using spoilers?
Still watch it. I also DVR it. It has improved and the finale does look like it will be good. The past episode was alright though. Hope the next one is action packed though, I think that's what the show is really missing out on. Just action. Not enough of it.
I'm watching it, but it's losing me. The last episode threw in the stereotypical woman-delivering-baby-during-crisis cliche. They used that filler and a bunch of other filler to deliver a one-hour show that had absolutely no alien critters, or mechs, or spaceships at all. That's weak. I expect better. Especially from a show that's still in its first season.
I agree, last night's episode definitely moved the plot more. We saw a new alien, learned the skitters might have been harnessed and eventually turn into skitters, turning the alien technology against them, and finally taking the offensive. It's gotten more interesting when the two-parter started two weeks ago. The first half of the season was lackluster. Maybe the second half can redeem it.
