Depending on the list, Clemens and Brett Oberholzer were both on their top 10. Either way, they both will be on ours, Braves top 6 is ELITE.

Really not Ovando or Deshields Jr? We'll see how there stat lines look at the end of the season I guess. I also think people are too down on Paul Clemens since he wasn't seen as one of the 'big 4' Atlanta pitching prospects.

I'd be happy with mid-teens. Especially since the Astros are well on their way to the #1 pick in 2012.

Is George Springer going to sign? I remember reading last week that he was in talks with the Long Island Ducks of the independent league...

Stros top 20 prospect list should look like this after Springer signs...

    1) Cosart -
    2) Singleton -
    3) Springer -
    4) Clemens -
    5) Ovando -
    6) Villar -
    7) Oberholzer
    8) Foltyz
    9) Keuchel
    10) DD Jr
    Top 11-20
    11) Houser
    12) Hinze
    13) Mier
    14) C.Wallace
    15) Wates
    16) Abreu
    17) Zeid
    18) Stoffer
    19) Sosa
    20) Goebbert

Not including Altuve, Martinez and Schafer since all three will be on the major league club. Also not including Armstrong since I'm not sure he'll sign and still one more prospect to pick up in the Pence deal.

Villar was BA Top 100, and no reason to expect he wouldn't still be in the Top 100.

Wow! What a day to miss while fliying half way around the world.

I thought the Pence trade was fair fo the most part. There was no way that Brown would have been included in the deal. Cosart and Singleton are top prospects, not too keen on Zeid and the PTNBL is just a roster filler from low-A ball per reports. Just getting tired of dealing with the Phillies and feeling like their farm club.

I feel like we got fleeced in the Bourn trade. A gold glove defender and top base stealer in the majors and we got four guys who aren't much to talk about (Schafer is not a whole lot to be excited about). I am astonished that we would trade Bourn for such a quantity over quality package, hell I would have taken Vizcaino and a low-A ball player straight up for Bourn, but a package of guys who are no where near blue-chip status is eye brow raising.

Thought not trading Wandy, Michaels or Myers was a mistake. Wade was moronic to give Wandy a contract extension last season as it hindered moving him this season (why the hell are the Yankees worried about money all of a sudden). Should've sold high on Myers last season, and would love to get a fungo for Michaels.

Well the Astros farm system just got a whole lot better, hopefully some of these guys will pan out and contribute on the MLB level.

This all happened because our drafts from 2005-2007 were horrible and we missed on lots of players, whether it was bad scouting and/or worrying about signability over talent. This should be a wake up call to the incoming ownership group to invest heavily in the draft, scouting and player development. With the right moves, hopefully we'll never have to see the Astros sell of pieces like this again. With that being said, go sign Springer and Armstrong already! Quit screwing around, this franchise cannot afford to let their first and third rounders not sign.

Looking forward to seeing J.D. and Altuve playing in Houston when I get back.

Three guys that might sneak into the top 20 depending on what they do the rest of this season.

    1) Jose Cisnero - Guy needs to get out of Lancaster, dude has nasty stuff but isn't being aggressive enough.

    2) Tanner Busche -Injury plagued year, needs to stay healthy.

    3) Vincent Velasquez - Big time stuff but coming off rotator cuff surgery. He could easily be a top 5 prospect, if healthy.

Jimmy Paredas should be on that list.

Hallock and Telvin Nash are going to be top 20 for sure.

Forgot about Paredes, weird because I like him a lot, but I have a feeling he could be called up in September with the ML team stripped down. Still should be somewhere between 7-15.

Nash has the potential and probably should be 10-20 but depending on what he does as Lexington, could be top 10. Problem with him is health, guy has to stay healthy but if so, he has awesome power.

Ok with the Bourn deal or not, the farm system looks A LOT better and after we get the #1 pick next season, we are finally going to have some elite prospects all over the top 10.

Nash definitely needs to stay healthy.
His numbers are not too far different from Singleton. I realize that Nash is a year older and a level lower, but the numbers are still good for a 20 year old. Has plenty of time to develop.

I think he is athletic enough to stick in the outfield too.
With him, Springer and Ovando coming along....then you have to figure Deshields may have to switch back to CF.
I am starting to lean away from wanting to draft the kid from Galveston Ball. I know you don't draft on need in baseball necessarily, but I sure wish a pitcher would separate from the pack next year. A college pitcher.

Appel seems to be the consensus guy for the top college pitcher, but his numbers are pretty pedestrian.

Footer tweeted it too. It's true. Wallace and CJ down, Paredes and Bogusevic up. Paredes will be the everyday 3rd baseman.

WOW...I'm shocked at Wallace and to a point with Johnson. I thought Paredes might be up, noted above, but not this soon. Club has pretty much lost all faith in Wallace.

CLee will be at 1st, I guess, BB is in right and move JD to left, his natural position. I guess for now a Jason B./BB platoon.

Paredes has a unique skill set for a third baseman. Lot of speed and raw power. Needs to work on his plate discipline.

I get the same feeling you do about Wallace. It feels like they have given up to some degree. At this point, it seems like they'll let him flourish if he makes his own breaks, but they aren't going out of their way to accommodate his development.

Brett was our future first baseman! What happened?! Oh, another Ed Wade fail.

Guess its time to just call up all the boys from Corpus. Let em come up and grow together.;)

Yep, I like Jimmy a lot and think he will do well. Sucks for Johnson but the reality turned out he got lucky last year and when pitchers made adjustments, he couldn't.

If Barmes hasn't started playing good ball, almost certain we'd see Jonathan Villar too.

WOW .. i know that Wallace was struggling but its hard to produce when he was getting such inconsistent playing time. The first half of this season showed what he was capable of, and he should def be staying up at the big league level ... screw carlos lee i know he is playing really well but at this point you have to give wallace the time at first and not mess up his confidence even more
