Yes I know and stated so in my post in my post:
"Look at the King's at the time we traded for him - before his one time trip to the all-star game as a Rocket." - I will not to post the mins played because of the respect I have for him as player and person...

I used Otis to show the levels of stardom.

Would you build around O.T. as your best. untouchable, cornerstone player?

(kyle lowry is a star) the reason we "don't" have a "superstar", is because

    1. the rockets do a ****ty job of pimping out their players...Whens the last time you've seen a GOOD rockets commercial centered around one rocket, an interview of a rocket, a billboard of one rocket, even posters..

2.Kyle Lowry has all star potential, he doesnt really look the part...but he does, he takes over games. probably our most consistent game changer since tmac. aaron brooks only did it for a playoff run...

    3. If kyle lowry played for a "glamorous" team, he would totally be regarded as a star..

    4. EXPECTATIONS, I think a lot of us here would consider kyle lowry a better pg then steve francis..(based on this season)BUT steve francis was seen as THE FRANCHISE.. if kyle was a top ten draft pick and was expected to be great then he'd be considered one of the "chris pauls" or "stephen curry's" of the league, but since he was not a big deal coming out of college he's an "over achiever" untill he can prove that he can be consistent on a yearly basis.

    5. his style of play, Kyle is an excellent passer, and an excellent 3pt shooter, but in my opinion the strongest aspect of his game is his hustle and defense... Good perimeter Defense and 3pt shooting doesnt get you espn time.. Blocks, and dunks do..

Kyle lowry is the only reason we had a winning season this year... lack of one more player like him is the reason our boys didnt make the playoffs..

I am the biggest Lowry fan but he is not a star. The term star gets thrown around too easily. IMO you need to be a top 3 player at your position to be considered a star and a first team All-NBA to be a superstar.

Lowry is a championship type PG, just like Martin is that caliber SG and Scola is a PF. However, they are all replaceable parts. I can assure you that Morey & co. would be able to find similar players relatively easily.

If we cannot trade for a prime time player this year and fail to lure a big name free agent in '12, I am all for "tanking" and stocking on draft picks to go the OKC/Clippers way. It has proven very very difficult to acquire a star without sucking.

Actually if we speak literally, it would be the top 4-6 considering thats how many players of each position make the all star team..

    lets break this down then..

    in my opinion

    1. chris paul
    2. derek rose
    3. rajon rondo
    4. russell westbrook
    5. deron williams
    6. kyle lowry

two years ago i would have placed the following at six
    -jason kidd
    -steve nash
    -tony parker
    - hell even chauncey billups

    Really? 6th?
As of today, Nash and Parker are definitely better and I would argue that
Wall, Curry, Holiday, Evans are at least just as good or better at this point.
So that makes Lowry 10-14ish. This doesn't include questionables like Jennings, Felton, Conley, Lawson, Irving, Rubio, Harris, etc.
That makes it seem kind of slightly-above average starter quality but it really speaks to how many good PG there are in the league right now.

Agreed, as an org the Rockets did a great job of finding a hard-nosed kid at a good contract price.

That doesn't mean is tier 1 or even 2, but that doesn't necessarily take anything away from his skill either.

Great player, just a stacked position these days.

i respectfully disagree.. right now, i would rather have lowry run my team.. you have all the right in the world to call me biased.. i would love to see what kyle lowry could do playing along side manu ginobli and tim duncan... wall-turnovers, holiday-def top 10, curry-amazing shooter/above average pointgaurd, evans is a shooting guard

Tony Parker was able to win three championships, be named to 3 all-star games, and be named Finals MVP along side of Duncan and Ginobili

Oh, he is only 29 as well

...yea, i'm going to call you biased.

Tony parker has had a better career by far, but as of last season id start lowry of the two... Better shooter driver and defender RIGHT NOW

I am only a Rockets fan, but there are a heap of PG's I'd want running my team as of right now over Lowry.

    In no particular order

    Rose
    Westbrook
    Rondo
    Nash
    Williams
    Parker
    Curry
    Felton
Calderon (people don't talk about this guy, Raptor fans would say the same thing about him that we say about Lowry, extremely efficient two years ago, sucked it up last year, and came back with a solid year)

That puts Lowry 10th at best, fighting with Wall, Harris, and Augustin. At the same time you can be sure there are countless fans of those teams who would swear their player is ten times better than Lowry.

feltons overrated. i'd put lowry and wall and maybe even agustine over him and calderon..(as of today)

in my opinion lowry is one of the more complete pgs in the league.. plays defense LIKE a chris paul..(not as good) hustles for rebounds like a Rondo (not as good) shoots threes like a curry (not as good, but just as if not more clutch) and distributes like a nash (not as good) but has all of those peices which most pgs lack..

a lot of nba analysts consider rondo and rose extremely over rated point guards, because of their outside game. clearly lowry doesnt match their game but has everything that those guys lack..

im gonna stick to my case.. if lowry played for even someone like the magic.. he would easily be considered a top five.. theres not much to distribute to in houston other than kevin martin.. but he pumpfakes so much that it takes away from lowrys assist numbers.. the only reason chuck hayes EVER scores is off of rebounds

maybe i over value him because our lack of great players..
but i have a gut feeling that at some point were going to let him go to a serious contender and he's going to dominate...
