I agree with the OP, and usually the people who use this phrase and the alcoholic type wanna be partiers that thing going to some ****hole bar is Texas is considered partying. I own my own business so I work hard for 3 months and then I play for 2, work for 3 and play for 2. It's my system. But I don't "play" like most of you think of when using this phrase. When I play, I take 2 month vacations all over the world. I'll get a condo in Miami and hang out on the beach, go snorkeling, play tennis, basketball and frisbee on the beach, go to nice restaurants, and watch sunsets. And I don't drink. So my point is, "playing" doesn't always mean going out and getting drunk and acting like a jackass. But most people who use this phrase don't know what playing really is.
that sounds awesome. that's the way i feel too. wish i could take two months off like that though. i decided i didn't want to "waste" money on the latest gadgets, big screen tvs, or just crap in general. i'd rather have all that money for experiences.
I guess I'm not around and don't hang around dudes like that so I don't have to hear them say it but I would have no problem with anyone saying it, if that's what they actually do.
I wonder why are males being so snippety of each other now? Keep that stuff for the catty two-faced insecure chicks. I read the title and thought it mighta been about some study advocating to people that having an enjoyable LIFE after work helps your well being. I know the type. Work around them also. Its not just guys its WOMEN too. To me they're annoying "millennials". Those types are just aggravating in GENERAL cuz they feel entitled to being "carefree" in EVERYTHING. So when they end their week living loose and you go home to get on Tumblr, it doesnt seem "right" that they've been aggravating dickheads the whole week but still get to redeem it all with fun and laughs, while you plan away your "culturally broadening" expedition.
Yeah bro, I totally agree for reals. Dudes who say this **** don't even know about how to play hard, that is why it is dumb to say they work hard and play hard if you don't know how to "play" for reals. I own my own business too, so I have my special system where I work for 5 months and then play hard for 4, work 5 and then play hard 4. I designed this system. I take 4 month vacations all over the universe. I'll get a moonbase colony on the Moon and hang out in the Sea of Tranquility with some hot b****es, just checking out the Earth rise while I play some space hockey and having laser fights with moon gnomes. And I don't smoke rock. So, what you and me are saying, is that "playing" doesn't mean just going to Miami and paying for prostitutes and getting 20% off your tab at Applebee's with your Applebee's club membership and acting like you are as hot as your NEW Sizzling Entrees. Most people who say they "play" don't even know where the Moon is. For reals.
I love hearing this. I usually respond with, "Yes, Houston acknowledges you have a problem with understanding basic sentence structure."
I don't care much about money and material things, but I do care about freedom. Just beware of the haters (like thadeus, etc...) who work 9-5 and live for the weekend and want to retire at age 65 with their 401k plan and play golf from the senior tees. I take mini retirements throughout the year. I built my business to allow myself to do that. People will hate (just like those in this thread) because you are doing something outside of the status quo and against what people like Suze Orman an Dave Ramsey preach. I have a home in Scottsdale AZ, and one in Sunny Isles Beach FL. I never want to retire when I'm an old man. I want to take mini retirements during the prime of my life. I'm 35 now by the way, so you young guys still have a ton of time to get on board. This is the book I recommend if you want this lifestyle. It's great. http://www.themillionairefastlane.com/
For you young guys, you can do this (just don't listen to the status quo haters i this thread who work at best buy): <iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-nDDBghzcAk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
